My internet connection has been down since Friday evening, and after I got over the initial shock of not having the net I actually quite liked not switching on the laptop for a couple of days. I went to the city and browsed round the shops, I worked in the garden and made progress laying my gravel drive. I thought the problem was at the providers end as my connection here is not always reliable. After a bit of playing about I realised the power adaptor that goes to my sattelite dish had gone faulty. I replaced it with one from an external disk drive, and Success! I am now back online.
I am pleased to be back in communication again, but I did enjoy the time without it.
How about you what would you do if you had no internet for a couple of days? How much would you miss it?

I would go crazy especially since I use the Internet to make money and my husband uses it for school. I have had a couple of occassions where the Internet has gone done and it had frustrated me. The other day the power went out for 2 and a half hours and boy was I mad. I am trying to make payout this month and because the power was out I am behind. I am hoping to play catch up between now and the end of the month. With Thanksgiving coming up I am hoping I can fit some time on here working.

I know I would miss my friends on here. I will also be starting school in January and I know I will need it. I will be pursing my Master's Degree in Psychology through the University of Phoenix online. I am looking forward to it.
I am still trying to make payment and I more than half way now. If I push myself a little bit harder I know I will make it.

Hi carmelbg, at first I feel sorry to know that your internet has been down for a couple of days. I didn't expect that you really enjoyed the offline period heartily with what you like. Yeah, it's a positive way to please yourself with other favorite activities so that you don't feel monotonous without network service. It's nice to know you had got the connection restored as usual again.
If I come across internet interruption I will call the internet service provider immediately. I will keep on hasten them to get my network repaired as fast as possible. I would carry along my laptop and visit the nearby coffee shop with wifi service during my free time. After paying for a cup of drink I can enjoy getting on the internet without time limit there
Happy posting!

I would miss not having the internet at home. I would have to go to the library and use the computer there but that would not help to much as you only have 45 minutes of use if there are others waiting to use a computer. The library only has four computers for public use. I would though get out of the house more by not have the internet at home could do some window shopping can not afford anything else.

I may feel sad but I'd rather have myself busy on other things for internet is just checking mails for me & my Lot that's it. I will spend the time bonding with my family & go somewhere else where we can spend enough time with each other.

If I had no internet, I still could do many things, especially the outside activities. I can go for a picnic, go hiking, visit a museum or some of my friends, etc. I would also go to a sport center and play some games there, then have meals at restaurents. In summary, I can enjoy well a life without internet. Maybe I would miss some habits that I used to do on the internet such as checking emails, reading news, but I'm not too dependant, and I think that I would keep missing it for some hours before being pulled into the new pleasant lifestyle.

Watch the telly or do some outdoor activity like play with my children in the playground, have a dip on the pool, go to the gym or just simply read a book about anything interesting. We have lived an internet-free world before so I think its not that of a biggie if this thing will be gone forever.

Hi carmelbg: thanks for staring this discussion, i find it very interesting. For me i'd first shocked after noticing that my internet server is not working just because, you know we all need internet for fun, to read the news, our email, to chat, go to the forums and else making extra money. Now i know that i'd have to do something else so i'd probably read a book, listen to my favorite artists and i'd else watch tv which are some of my favorite things that i do excluding the internet, i mean, it's not the end of the earth. I think you had made great plans, that's a nice story you have told us. Have a nice day.

i'm little bit internet addicted, so its very hard to be patient for me. i can't feel mood on without net and suppose if my home connection or office connection are in trouble, i like to surf site through cell phone. but cell phone are not comfortable to me to browsing. i can go for browsing to nearest net shop or cafe, other wise i like to chat over phone with all of my female friend.
