I agree that it depends on your purpose, and on yourself and your values. I, personally, take some minutes off, sit down, close my eyes and do nothing because it's my way of de-stressing. I don't find it as a waste of time because it helps me regain energy and makes me think more clearly; hence, I become more productive for the next tasks.
In spite of our fast-paced world, I feel that any form of idle time to satisfy our need for rest should not be thought of as time wasters. We tend to think that every second of our life should be spent on working for our futures. We forget that if we don't take care of our bodies, we won't be functioning well in the first place.

I absolutely agree with you Imcueva, Many people believe that every seconds in our life should be spend in a productive way, like there should be something we gain as a result, which I strongly disagree. Our life should not be spend on earning money and getting wealth for our self. But rather we should live it the way we want it to be, loving our self as well as other, sharing our precious time to other people. Spending it with the things that we love and doing things that we want, not what other want us to do. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Yeah, doing nothing is the most tiring job. And I don't believe that there are those people who love to just sit down for a long time and do nothing, unless they're not on the right mine. Sometimes we just need some time to stop what we're doing daily and do nothing. In order for us to gain strength and know where we are going and realized what been doing with our life. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

well, it is just like relaxing and finding a time to rest when you sit on a chair. but, if the environment is really boring, and you are still at on your chair, sitting, it is the time that it's called wasting of time. we could do a lot of things like doing household chores, looking for money and any other unfinished work :)

Hello uchihaseymour. I absolutely agree with you. in the foreign country, people are very busy and you cannot see them sitting down the chair even a minute because they are on standard society and they work hard in order them to have a good life, a good future to their kids. No one would help us if they can saw us that always sitting down.

Hello deepamoorthy. I think you are right because those people who always sitting down can think bad way in order them to earn money without working hard. It is waste time because I've experienced that before that I one day, I felt not feeling to do anything. I am just lying in the bed thinking and thinking even if I know that day is the deadline of our project. And you know what happened after the end of the day? I am forcing myself finish the assignment even though I can't do it anymore because it gives lot of time do it. Good thing because my instructor is good and she gave me a passing score. That action makes me encourage that it is not good to do nothing.

I would say that there are times that we all need to sit down and do nothing.Because we are busy in most of our times .We don't have too much time to sit and relax.Nor do we have times to think of life, the relationship to ourselves and relationship with other people around us.Of course,if prople tends to sit and do nothing all the times are surely a waste of times .But a moment of silence and times for solitude is important for everybody.Especially for those whose workaholic needs more time like this.Have a good day.

I absolutely agree with you. There are those time when I get depressed and burnout because of too much time on work, with high stress from too much pressure and personal problems. That I find it difficult how and where to start. And for me the best resort and solution is to stop and unwind.I need quite time for my self to recharge and develop a sense of time and love of oneself. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

That is what is called as meditation :). I actually think that it is not a waste to sit down and do nothing. I think that reduces a lot of stress and also removes a lot of negativity from us. I actually spend some time alone, either sitting down and doing nothing or just lying down without sleeping or just walking alone for at least 20-30 minutes each day. That usually refreshes me.
Cheers!

It's some sort of meditation, relaxation or whatever you called it. And you're right, it will refresh our mind and body. It makes us feel better, and I think we all need it every once in while. We need to have time to stop from our daily activities in order to regain our strength. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

I have to say every now and again I will have a couple of hours just realxing and watching tv. I can only do this every now and again as I find it frustrating if I get to the end of the day and haven't achieved much. Today I have had a real sunday, watched a movie in the morning ate a leisurely lunch and then cleaned. I haven't done any work in the garden but at least I got the cleaning done!

Hello carmelbg. Yeah, it is not good if we always sitting down in the chair watching tv and do our leisure time and you can think at the end of the day that you can't have do nothing to earn. Instead of sitting down a couple of hours at home, why not try to do anything in front of the computer so that we can earn money at home? it is better than sitting down. I experienced that before to sitting down whole day and I get bored and not satisfied with my life. I feel sick. That's why I tried to search in the net the most legitimate site whom I can earn at home. That's why I found mylot.

yes because while you were doing nothing, world records have been set, a peace treaty has been signed and you are doing nothing to help yourself.
You're just sitting there. I for one am not the type of person who likes sitting through nothing.
I always have a purpose and everybody should too. It will make all that we do meaningful.
I rather run in a marathon that sit for absolutely no reason and do nothing.

Hello MJAL08. I think you have also a point but in reality, we must do anything to earn money so that we can buy what we want. But for those people who always sitting down and wait for the blessings. I think they are lazy and not thinking their future.

Hi careguarden. Whether sitting down and doing nothing for a couple of hours is a waste of time depends greatly on its purpose. Same with staying at home and doing nothing. Are you doing nothing because you're sick? visualizing? relaxing? thinking? planning? In this case, nothing is wasted. You may not be doing actual physical activities but you may be doing some important mental processes.

Sitting down for a couple of hours in a day is a way of relaxation. It's actually advisable to have time to rest for a while. Resting is not a waste of time. However, sitting for a long, long time and doing nothing is really a waste of time. Your day will never be productive if you just sit, as if you're waiting for nothing.

Yeah, it could be a way of relaxation. We can't call it a waste of time, since you're doing something for your self. Ralaxation is not a luxury rather it's a necessity. Almost always we are busy getting up early in the morning and too late going home at night. We're trapped on life of stereotypes and doing nothing even for a couple of hours or day, just watched the sunrise and sunset could be of great, having our own pace for a while. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Never I do think it's a waste of time to do nothing since you could be at least doing research on the internet reading a book playing video games or watching tv or movies which is usally what I do. Even though a lot of people will think that's doing nothing but I don't.

No I don't think so that doing nothing is a waste of time. It is also very important to vacate our minds from any worries, troubles and other life's concern, I think it is not very healthy to keep ourselves busy all the time and to preoccupy our minds from many plans and thoughts because our body might give in with too much stress and tension, so for me, it is very okay to just sit in one corner and relax and do nothing to have enough rest.
Most of the time I practice this habit of just sitting down in a chair and pondered hard on my fate and reflect and contemplate then I took a deep breath, this is my one way of relaxing my mind and body from everyday clutters of life, after then, I am very okay and in excellent condition to resume my work and other activities. By sitting down and doing nothing you can feel some peace of mind, tranquility from deep with in and the stillness of life.

Whenever I got an opportunity, I do. Because we are not machines. We need rests. Some scientists says that rest plus hard work will make a big success. Yes it is true. If you are doing something regularly than your working capability will go down. Wasting time and resting time are different. All are my views don't take it seriously. If you think it is wasting of time than don't waste it.

Wow, that is a good question. I do that everyday actually. After work, I would do nothing just hanging around, lying down on the sofa until I fall asleep. To me, if you really don't have anything else to do, it's not a waste of time if you just stay at home and do nothing. It's like you're cleaning your mind and will feel revived.

In a sluggish point of view is no, it is their habit..
But to a person that thinks for his future then he will never miss something in every tick of the clock.
