is love merriage is a crime in india

i got news everyday about love marriage in newspapers and after that news i also read that some one is killed in this matter or some is getting harmed by family or organization or religious society.
i got sad and fell uneasy with these and then sometimes my mind asks from me that
is is love marriage is really a crime in india. and people have no other work to do
rather than just making it a issue??

I am sorry to hear that. I have never been in that situation. I was married for 16 years to same man from a love marriage. We ended up getting a divorce, but it was both of our choices. Life is hard enough without someone forcing me to marry someone I don't love.
