Is there really a need to put ice when drinking a coca-cola?

Eventhough the weather is quite cold now a days, still some other people tend to put ice on coca-cola or in any other softdrinks. And when ice is not available, still people will pick and buy the cold cola.
I am just wondering why they still put an ice on a cola drink though the weather now a days is quite cold enough to refresh you. Is there any explanation in line with this? Is it really the common way to drink a coca-cola?

Hi, airshelia. I like all of my drinks icy cold. If I don't have any ice, I will let my drink get very cold in the freezer. I guess the reason is for this is because it tastes better. It perks the drink up. It makes it taste more refreshing. I know that it is very cold outside, but I love icy cold drinks.

Hello Cream97,
Just like you, though the weather is quite cold now a days, I sometimes drink icy cold drinks for more satisfaction.
Happy Mylotting.

As much as possible i dont like to put ice on my coca-cola, it changes the taste of the drink. The ice melts and turns into water so sometimes it taste like water more than a soda. I would rather prefer it ice cold than put an ice on it. Thats why i dont like coke in the fast food, they put too much ice. I cant blame them though, coke is better when cold. My advice is when drinking coke or any other soda, leave it first in the refrigerator and wait. You will enjoy it afterwards and dont put ice.
