I love bananas and try to have some on hand every week. I have found that they keep longer in the fridge. The skin will turn black faster but the banana it's self will be good much longer.

In Philippines there are many varieties of bananas from small 1 inch to bigger one as 1 foot. They are delicious . While other used for cooking. Others for ice cream. Red skin bananas are available, too. Green and Yellow are delicious, too. Brown bananas are good for cooking delicious soup and as dessert. Rich in Potassium that good for our body. Have a great day.

Hello jahernandezrivas this is checkmail and often am fond of Banana as its a much regular fruit in my diet, yeah after having breakfast, lunch, dinner use to eat it.Its very effective for digestion process.Well bananas also go in my fruit milkshakes so more use of bananas, as its cheap in price as well as easily avail in market. They also go in with all seasons so not much ill-effect of it on our health.Well didn't tried yet to preserve it, but can store in refrigerator, to keep it some more time fresh.Else in my opinion bananas are for quick relish.

I'm not aware of a way to keep them fresher for longer however make sure that you do not put your bananas in the refrigerator. If you put your bananas in the refrigerator they turn brown much much faster. The best thing I've heard is to just leave them sit on your counter top.

The only thing I have heard of is that if the bananas are not yet ripe putting them in a brown bag on the counter will help ripen them up. There are "Green Bags" a lady named Debbie Meyer I believe has come up with and these are supposed to keep fruits and veggies fresh longer. You could always try either of those two methods out and see if it works for you.
