Why Don't People Respond To Post On Mylot?

i know i really shouldn't care whether or not people on this board responds. let's face it, as long as i post, i get paid. i know it is also not politically correct to say that here, but let's face it. why else would someone waste their time posting to a discussion board, only to have no one respond to their discussion. now, i saw this question being posted by many a mylotter. i also read some of the responses that question has gotten before. most of them did not satisfy me. for instance, when someone suggest to post interesting topics. lol. really? some of the topics that i have read on this board get a lot of responses, but are far from interesting. i actually think some of them are not really serious. then other times i think that it's just a way to put more money in your account rather than read someone's else's post and responding. you know what? i will start posting questions like, "what did you all have for breakfast this morning? lol. maybe that will get the thousands of responses that i have been looking for?

moongypsy you have the misguided idea if our discussions get a whole slew of responses we will make a lot of money, read the guidelines we all of us only get paid for what we ourselves post not for what others post on our discussions so you must comment on the responses you get in order to make any money on your own discussions.you also get paid for the responses you make on others discussions and do not be so quick to put down all our discussions as a lot are far better than you may think. you are still pretty new here and I bet you have not bothered to read the rules either. repeat after me you do not get paid for our responses to your discussion you only get paid for your comments on our responses get it now. also do not disparage all our discussions so easily as they might just grow on you.The only advantage in getting a lot of responses is if you comment on each and every one of them. you get paid for what you do not for what we do. get it?

i NEVER said that you get paid for people reading your post. i KNOW that you don't get paid for others posting to your discussion. second, the money part isn't was is important. cause if i were, i wouldn't keep coming back here. the point i was trying to make was that. i actually take the time to post, i mean really post. not just one or two sentences. just like anyone else, we all want to feel like if we start a discussion, people will respond. after all, i respond to other peoples discussion. i would like other's to respond to mind, too. whether or not we get paid for it. call it e-feelings. lol

I can understand this too. I get it. It is nice to have the conversation work both ways. Sometimes I am so bored I get on here and post, and then feel like I am talking to myself. It isn't about the money for me. Cheers!

I understand what you meant to say.Every one here has been been around here for some time and at times it becomes relly tough to come up with some good ones.may be they may have started these kind of discussions just to take some time of those typical and serious discussions nd i laugh at some those which are really silly like the ones you addressed and they turn out to be top discussions of the day LOL.gud day,

Hi moongypsy,
Please please, please do NOT add to those what kind of pizza do you like discussions. They may get a lot of responses but unless the person that asked that question responds back to all the response...he doesn't earn anything after the first 2 responses. I took a look thru your discussions and most of them are pretty cool discussions and you got a fair amount of responses on most of them. Some were duds and maybe not because they were not good discussions but because somehow they missed being seen by the right people. I don't know. I think you are doing good. I"ve had discussions that don't get many responses too for whatever reason. don't get discouraged & keep on doing just what you are doing.

Sometimes, it does not matter if the topic is not that interesting. There are a lot of topics that are so-so but generate a lot of responses. I think this is because these kind of topics are easier to answer and reply to. Sometimes, with these topics, people can also say and share a lot more. Another thing is that we all have to be patient with Mylot. Just reply to lots of discussions. For me, there is no need to post and start your own discussions then you'll just get depressed when you saw only a few replied.

Sometimes I don't know anything about some of the subjects that are being talked about. Sometimes I don't have an opinion. Sports for example, I don't know the first thing about football, so that would be a subject I would pass by. I like to try and answer many different topics from anyone that I can.

Honestly I think that kind of works both ways. Some interesting questions will get lots of responses especially if it is something many people are passionate about, however the easier questions such as "What did you have for breakfast?" get lots of responses because they are easy to answer, and anyone can answer that easily with very little thought, and it is something everybody knows. Every body knows what they had for breakfast it is a no brainer. I have seen questions related to specific sites or operating systems or very specific things get no answers because not a lot of people know a lot about those things so nobody is going to answer that question. Well someone might but there will not be a lot of responses. Personally I like to answer a mix of both, I don't want to have to think too deeply about every response I give but sometimes there are really good discussions that I can really sink my teeth in.

I come from the viewpoint that, if you create a discussion then there may or may not be follow up responses depending on how the discussion relates to any particular person. Whenever I get any responses for discussions that I create though I make sure that I respond to every single response as this is the polite thing to do. There are times when it seems that a discussion that is not that interesting tends to receive a tremendous amount of responses. Andrew

Another word of advice, don't worry about the money you are trying to make. Just have fun.
If you stress yourself out about what you could be doing wrong when writing up a discussion, that will turn you off to wanting to post on Mylot.
If you are looking at this site as a source of income. DON'T There are other ways out there that are best to check ou for financial gain.
As you can see many of us have experienced similar feelings. However, we have taken the time to read through the guidelines to have a better understanding about how the site works.
It is best to simply relax and enjoy meeting people and discussing different issues here on the site.
Good Luck to you!

MoonGypsy...I have thought the same thing as you from the beginning..lol If you post a very thought out discussion, often we get very little responders. But if you post a discussion that appears to be multiple choice, such as "Cofee or Tea?", you get hundreds of responders..lol...It never made sense to me.
So I finally decided to join the club and posted, what I thought, a simple thoughtless question, and I got more responders than I have ever had...lol
Therefore, the answer to the Mylot game, is stop worrying about finding the perfect discussion, the more thought you put into, the less responders you get.
Just ask simple questions: "What's the weather at your house?" lol...and you'll rake in all the people who find it easier to respond to.

Maybe it depends on the topic, if they find it interesting then it is easier to comment on it. It's hard to determine which is which, maybe we just have to try harder. As long as we keep on posting and respect other people, then everything will turn out to be just fine in the end, we will all get paid.
