It's better to join Constant-Content and submit the articles there. This site requires perfect English, and their clients are major world publication. You have to charge high, otherwise they think your articles are useless.
You can choose to give away exclusive rights so that you are sell a 500 words article for $100.

Hi there informer,
There are several ways to get published.
- You could be published online or in a real newspaper.
- As a reaction, as a column or as a news article ( as source)
Most newspapers have an email address on which you can contact them. Perhaps it's an idea to email a few of them and request information pertaining article submission.
As for online ezines, article directories and such there are paid distribution services as well as paid and freeware softwares that take care for the promotion and distribution of your writings.
I hope you'll get published, let us know if you are. ;)

I believe that most newspapers will not just take your articles without prior approval...you have to be hired by them to be one of their free lance writers, or writers. They already are staffed with people to write for their newspaper so you would be taken up their space.
However, you may be able to call them and ask if they have any openings for people to write articles?

Probably looking up their address. And then sending it to their opinions section.
