Studies indicate that prayer has a positive and tangible effect on people even if they do not know that you are praying for them. It's effect is so powerful that it can influence someone up to a third degree of separation.

I am of the opinion that prayer is essential in our life. Sometimes we tend to forget God when things are going right for us. We seem to turn to God only in times of need. We should always pray to God irregardless of what the state of our lives are. It gives us strength and reaffirms our faith.

Hello Bionicman (1366)
I little Googling will lead you to publications of several studies related to "prayer." Some seem to indicate it has indeed an impact while some suggests to indicate otherwise. If you are really interested, here are some:

I personally know how powerful prayer can be. Two years ago this month I was struck by a car while walking. The results were life chaning. I had all four limbs broken and was pulled out of the road by the motorist that hit me. He did not know what my condition was. Fortunately my neighbor, who is a nurse was able to come to my aid. I was in the hospital for 5 days totally sedated. Spent 3 weeks in the hospital recovering and another 1 1/2 months in a nursing care facility. Today, I am back to doing most everything I did before the accident. If it had not been for my family and my church family things would have been completely different. The pastor/associate pastor would stop in regularly to check on me and give me the inspiration that I needed to continue on.

I don't realy have any interesting story about prayer. Since I never feel my prayer has been answered. Some of them even go the oposite. But still...I never stop praying. Mostly before I start doing something, I start it with simple prayer, it give me confident somehow. Anyway, i just starting a new discussion about prayer a moment ago, if you interesting to respond, you have my gratidude.
