There is a phrase being used by game show hosts, in commercials and perhaps in real life that I think is being overused and which annoys me anyway. Have you heard it in real life? Do you find it annoying and overused? The phrase is: "That's what I'm Talking about"

Yes, many kind of such phrases, like " you know" ' how to say". When I'm in a frequent use of those phrases, my English teacher helped me out. When I said: " you know" he replied: ' no, I don't know", When I didn't know how to express, I d like to say " how to say" to give myself a few seconds to think, while he would say:' if you don't know how to say just thing of it , and then speak, but not'how to say'. You may learn these phrases from English films, you think it's a fashion to say so when you don't know somthing, you even don't try to think about it just let ' how to say' out of your mouth, you are too lazy in learning." Since then , I'm cautious of using such phrases.

When I was in high school a long time ago a fellow student was giving a book report in front of the class and was using "you know" a lot and just like in your case she said "but, I don't know."

I've been hearing that for a while as well. I guess, I hadn't really thought about it much, but it is a little bit annoying. It reminds me of when everyone was saying "WHASSUP". That one really got on my nerves. I guess it started with some kind of movie, which I obviously missed, so I didn't know what was wrong with people. Then someone finally explained it to me. I guess we'll have to put up with this one as well. That is, until the next catch phrase comes about.
