This is NOT a self proclaiming birthday for myself. This is to celebrate the 46th birthday of The Doctor - or, actually more aptly, the show, Doctor Who. http://www.wired.com/thisdayintech/2009/11/1123dr-who-debuts I have been a fan of the show since I discovered it in the early 1980's, like 1982 or 3. Since the, and because I don't celebrate Halloween, we started a fan club and the Saturday before Thanksgiving, in the states, we would have a birthday/costume party for The Doctor. And, because there were some in the club who had birthdays around the same time, we included them...(eeehem...) So, are you, did you, have you ever done anything special to celebrate The Doctor around the time of his "Birthday"? I personally spend a lot of time trying to forget what happened the day before so I throw myself into the Who-ish festivities. How about you?

I must confess that I forgot the doctors birthday untill I saw the wired story. I first saw the show in 1983 when local public tv showed the 20 aniverisy spicial the "Five Doctors" I knew little aobut the show, but from what I could see it looked at a realy great and I wanted to see more. latter the following year I got to see more of the doctor, it ran on saturnday night on public tv. I have enjoyed watching the show eversice, I even got to met the third doc in person a few years latter. it was an experence. I realy do not anyting to celibrate the birthdy or aniversiey of the show but it was good for wired to mention that on the day.

I discovered the Doctor in the early 80's too, and the discovery gave me one positive thing to happen around my birthday in 1963 - considering what ELSE happened around it!

You may be A doctor but you are not THE Doctor. The definite article - so to speak (English language joke.)

Hoppie birfday Elic-san! (Ya think that'll get past the rules? ) I surely do recall those wonderful costume parties! And that time you got a permanent & practiced your big-eyed Dr 4 look, with your handmade striped scarf & coat with lotza pockets, you were so spot on anyone who watched the show would immediately know Who you were! I also loved all the costumes our bunch made for the contests at conventions, & I miss those days. Ah, well, at least they gave us great memories! Sometimes, though, I fantasize having the cash to attend one...just for the road, anyway! VWORP! VWORP!! Maggiepie STALKERS WILL BE EATEN...

I love me some Doctor Who!! So sad to see David Tennant leave, but it's part of the shows charm to switch things up. I really loved Donna as the Doctor's companion, and I'm glad she'll be making an appearance in the final special starring David Tennant this Christmas. I loved the development of the Doctor's character in the most recent special 'The Water's of Mars' I don't celebrate his birthday, and I don't celebrate Christmas for that matter, but I will be celebrating on the 25th of December this year with Doctor Who! Allons-y!!

What I was trying NOT to say, was that I share a birthday with The Doctor since we aren't supposed to talk about birthdays here... I didn't much care for Donna, but I love her grandfather! I think I liked Martha the best of David Tennant's companions... I just watched the 2 animated episodes of Doctor Who, and really liked them, much fun! I will be very sad to see DT go, but that is part of the nature of the "beast" that is Doctor Who.
