A good topic. Willhave to think. OK I'll start with Test Cricket. Shivnaraine Chanderpaul is a very ungainly figurewhen he bats. An open stance facing midwicket (asif the bowler is going to bowl from the midwicket area) looks really funny. But he is very effective even though his shots dont look stylish as a laxman or Sachin. He uses reverse sweep pretty well too.
ODI and T20: Tilakaratne Dilshan for his "Dilscoop" the shot in which he scoopes the ball over the keeper. I really admire himfor coming up with that shot. And playing it while facing even the fast bowlers means its a real talent.
Another player who I think has a very wierd technique but is still very effective is Ross Taylor of Newzealand. He walks across the stumps and almost all balls are dispatched to the midwicket boundary or over it. A very crude method that you would usually associate with children playing on a ground near your house. But he has been very effective in executing it.
Another candidate for wierd shots is Kevin Pietersen with his switch hit. Mind it, its not a reverse sweep. he changes the grip on the bat from a right handers grip to a left handers grip and then hits the ball over the point bowndary as if sweeping over the squareleg boundary.and the power he generates in the shot is really amazing.
These are all I can think of right now and if i get more players i will add them later.
Cheers.

The names you mentioned are indeed among the top ones who have weird techniques to play cricket. But I would like to correct you on Dilshan issue. The shot which he plays as dilscoop was first played by Douglas Marrilier or Zimbabwe against India in a ODI where he effectively lift all the deliveries from Zaheer Khan over the keeper's head or over short fine leg. He later on to win the match for his side. I would like to add few more names in it. The most weird technique , I would give that award to Afridi. He has only two type of shots. One shot where he can hit a six or four and all the rest where he gets out. Chanderpaul indeed has the most weird technique when comes to batting position.

about douglas marrilier, he never played the shot over the keeper or though the off side. what shot he plays is a regular scoop over the fine leg with can be very fine but the boundarie3s always go to the fine leg area and never to the thirdman area or behind the keeper. And also he played the shots to Srinath and not Zaheer.
Cheers.

he might have played that one to Srinath occasionally but it was played more to Zaheer.
