Although i am starting this discussion, i have to admit that I do not have a favorite book. I dont play favorites. I'm just getting into historical books though, about Ancient Egypt, and what not, and I find it all so fascinating. How about you?

I love learning anout Ancient Egypt too!! It's funny, my fave author is Stephen King but I would have to say my all time favorite book is the Neverending Story..i fell in love with the movies when they came out in the 80's & saw the first 2 on the big screen...my mom bought me the book when I was about 11 & I tried to read it a few times through school but didn't really get totally into it until I hit my 20's...I could read that book time & time again.

I don't have A favorite book, I have favorite writers (please note, more than one.) Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Janet Evanovich, Orson Scott Card, Robert J. Sawyer, Tony Hillermann, Lilian Jackson Braun are among those that I love and eagerly await the next book from. Sadly, Hillermann has passed, and McCaffrey and Braun are very old, in fact, the last book expected from Braun hasn't come out (its said she's nearly 100.) None the less, I still have many that are younger (Lackey is 59, Sawyer is 49, Evanovich is 66) so I can expect many more years and books from them.

My all time favorite book is Nancy Drew. But I have varied interests as to the genre of books I read. They range from fiction (romance, novels, thrillers, suspense, action, conspiracies, fantasy, detective stories) to non-fiction. Ancient Egypt also interests me. I don't know much about its history. I think it'll be interesting to learn their culture and civilization. I wanted to learn more about their pharaohs and Cleopatra, and also the mysteries that surround the tombs and sarcophagus. Oh, there's much to learn about Egypt!

I have lots of favorite reading material- stuff by Nora Roberts and Lynn Kurland. But my favorite book is The Wolf by L. David Mech (Wolf Biologist) Anyone who wants to understand wolves should read this book. He is a little technical sometimes but I didn't have trouble understanding it.

Gosh to pick one is difficult. I would have to say my favorite series of books has to be by Lillian Jackson Braun. She has a series titled "The Cat Who..." It is a set of mystery novels about a journalist and the two cats he inherits so to speak named Kao-Ka=Kung and Yum-Yum. The adventures these 3 have are interesting at times and the author really knows cats, you can tell that she has sat and studied cats for hours.

I love a wide range of books. Oh and BTW, I am crazy about Eqyptian history and a real geek at it. I have read some very controversial, conspiracy theories related to Egypt too. So I love books related to Egyptian history. But I also have a fun side. LOL. I like books like The Alchemist, A thousand splendid suns and even Calvin and Hobbes! I am mad like that. Oh and I have read most of John Grisham's books. Plus, Sidney sheldon, Aurther Hailey and Stephen King too I have 2 real favorites- A thousand splendid suns. Being a woman, it is amazing to read that book. I also love a book called- 'What should I do with my live'. It was a real eye-opener for me.

The holy scriptures ... not necessarily the bible .. I love to dabble in beliefs and cultures of ancient civilizations and I find the holy scriptures which have been handed down through countless generations to be very informative. They create a sort of mental model to build up on when trying to figure out some of life's constructs. I hope I haven't weirded anyone out ..lol

For me, I love reading fiction books. They just blow imagination away! Such as Harry Potter, Twilight, and the Charlie Bone series. Try these books a try, especially if you're a young one that loves to read.
