Should children be allowed on reality TV shows?

I think that shows like Jon and Kate plus 8 exploit children. Their children will have to face the media (which has turned pretty ugly) for many years to come, and they will always be known as the children who had the parents with a nasty public divorce. Because of this, I do not believe that children should be allowed on reality TV shows about their families. What do you think? Why or why not?

I think the show started out with good intentions, I've never seen it so I don't know. It is unfortunate that the parents behave like they do. There are other reality shows with kids. Shows like Nanny 911 or Super Nanny are positive. They start out showing the misbehaving kids and the parents that don't know what to do. Then the nanny comes in and teaches the parents effective ways of punishing the kids without hitting them and the parents gain more control, and the kids are better for it. Also, there are kids on the show Wife Swap. I am not saying that I don't feel bad for the JK8 kids but banning children from reality shows isn't really the way to go. The parents should know to have more decency about themselves and when things were getting too crazy they should have quit the show so their children wouldn't be subjected to more craziness. Obviously their kids were not first in their minds. If my kid had a chance to be on a show where they could play some games and win prizes or where someone was interviewing the family or something like that I wouldn't have a problem with them being on TV, but if they did not want to be them I wouldn't have them be on TV. I really don't like reality shows very much, they don't depict much reality to me. Even shows like Super Nanny. In my reality if you spit on your parents you get your butt spanked, mouth slapped and you are grounded forever. There was never an option in my household to even imagine in your head that you would spit on my parents or curse at them. And you only get told once. There was no counting, no 1,2, or 3 warnings, no stars, stickers, no time outs. There was do it or get spanked and be grounded. No talking back either. We didn't get beaten or anything, but we knew there was no nonsense going on, especially in public places. So to me that show is not reality. To me Survivor is a joke. Surviving would be dropping them in the middle of nowhere with a pack and then telling them they need to make it to a certain point or a certain amount of days. There would be obvious waivers to sign your life away but it would be more interesting than watching people play games and vote people off. LAME! I think Next Top Model is nice except for all the ridiculous bickering and drama, I just like to see the photo shoots and makeup. So yeah, there are shows that I think it is okay for children to be on, but it is at the discretion of the parent and the responsibility of the parents to act like they have sense about themselves and to think of their children first, not dollar signs.

I dont think anyone should be allowed on reality shows! I think they are tacky, cheap-to-make voyeurism so they're certainly not appropriate for children. Sadly, there are plenty of wannabees who are quite happy to sell their souls and those of their children.

Hmmm...I have not watched that particular show. But based on local events, I would have to say No! My proof: Ballon Boy! That media seeking hoax was a ploy to get the boy's family on television. In fact, I believe that anyone who has kids should be banned from reality tv. (I would vote that we just ban reality tv, but we all know that is not going to happen.)

I think "Reality Shows" are stupid, anyway, so no, I don't think they should. As for Jon and Kate plus 8, I think Kate is a self-centered, self seeking ignorant, arrogant child. She doesn't care about what she is doing to her husband and children, just as long as she gets what she wants. Witch needs to grow up.

I'm not big on reality tv to begin with. Reality tv is it's own oxymoron. This show hasn't ended up being much about the kids in the last few months at all, it's been about the divorce and the fighting, that can't be healthy for anyone.
I wouldn't subject my kids to living on camera. As long as these shows have people that will watch them..networks are going to keep making them.

Children grew up with bad altitude today because of TV, 90% of shows is naked woman, drinking, smoking etc... That is the number one device Devil's use today, Even you just watching Kiddie Shows still there are commercials that's not suite for children. Try to use your TV when watching only DVDs you'll see good result. I guarantee you.
