well, when my friend got sick, he had to get x-ray examination. However, his parent do not agree with that. they think that x-ray is dangerous, moreover it is expensive. I's still confuse, why they do not allowed him to check by x-ray?
So everyone, please tell me how about you. do you agree with x-ray examination or take x-ray examination to check your body? or do not agree with x-ray? tell me why?

it's ok to take xray exam. it has minimal radiation so don't worry about the side effects...your friend has a lead protection that he will wear to protect the internal organs from radiation...xray examination is beneficial to the doctor to have proper diagnosis of the medical condition. also for the success of the treatment to be done having cooperation with the doctor is of main importance and it is for his own good!

Over exposure to X-Ray can be bad as it is a radiation. Radiation tends to kill some of the cells in their path. But limited exposure as is required for taking a X-Ray is not so bad and is ok. In each country there are norms for safe X-Ray and the clinics have to follow these guidelines. So that way it is actually safe and can be used, only thing is he/she should not get over-exposed.
Cheers!

well, tq 4 ur response. I see.... yes may be you are right... it can be used but not over-exposed. But when the doctor examine my friend, of course we can not control the examination. It depends on the doctor, when the doctor wants to stops it. So?

Hi, cute87! So far X-ray's have done me no harm just as far as I know. I do know that some X-ray's can harm one. They have an X-ray they was doing an report about. It was an X-ray of the teeth. They were saying how the performance could be deadly. If the dentist had this X-ray procedure done they had to use a certain component. But if it did not, then the patient was good to go.

I tink the question you're asking is "was the x-ray examination really neccessary?"
Well, I don't know. Doctors perform a lot of unneccessary tests these days to protect themselves from law suites. The letigious society we live in is more to blame for healthcare costs than anything. Doctors have to carry insurance to protect themselves from malpractice suites, and that is very expensive. Like it or not, the x-ray exam has become pretty much standard. Besides, an x-ray might show something (like cancer) that you don't know about, and give you a better chance of surviving something you didn't even know you had.

Hi cutex87
A single x-ray examination wouldnt do any harm. But, if a person over exposes him/her self to the radiation of the x-ray then it can have some hazardous effect. I think its neccesary to have some x-rays because if you dont, then the doctors would hardly know whats wrong with your friend.
Happy lotting!!

hi!actually x-ray is not totally dangerous but its help to diagnosed any kind of disease that can be seen inside our body. The x-ray machine have radiation but it will not totally affect us because for a few minutes where only exposed, that's why the x-ray technician or the one responsible for doing the x-ray they have the small gadgets that can monitor the degree of radiation that are coming to there body. The x-ray machine is not allowed for the pregnant woman because the baby that inside the womb will be exposed to radiation that can lead to some abnormalities or deformities,x -ray machine is very useful for those who have problem with the lungs that can detect the tuberculosis,or any kind of diseases that related to lungs, and also it can be detected if youhave stone in the kidney or any problem with the kidney. This machine is very useful specially in the hospital because it helps to the doctor to diagnose the disease that can be seen only through x-ray.

i will definately get an x-ray if i need it. here in australia if you really need an x-ray, you can go to the hospital and it is free - such as if you have broken a bone.
otherwise you can go to a special clinic, depending on what types of x-ray you need depends on how expensive they are.
you have to get over a thousand normal xrays to even get radiation poisoning. i dont believe them dangerous and feel that you are better off getting the x-ray and getting a diagnosis than worried about the risk.

hey cutex..
having a x-ray examination is not dangerous.. if it were dangerous, why would the hospital be giving it to people who need it?? the hospital helps people to get cured of their illness right? so the hospital wouldnt recommend something that is dangerous to our health.. true it is expensive but it is more accurate to find out if there is something wrong with your bones, etc.. so i advise that your friend should take the examination.. it wouldnt hurt a bit
