Hello everyone here firstly I just want to introduce myself to you.I'm from China and I'm a college student now. Learning in the college is the fist time for me to live without my parent's protection in a new city. So you know on the weekends I always want to go home even it will cost 100RMB to buy the tickets and cost 3hours on the bus. And actually, when I get home I will do nothing about my school stuff and I will just visit my grandparents who live in the countryside, go shopping with my elder sister ,company my nephew to the library ....So sometimes I decided not go home on weekends instead of staying at school and doing practise about my studise.......However, when I return from the library to the dormitray I can't stop thinking my parents my sister and my lovely nephew.....Cuz I clearly know that they all missed me and want me go home.......I'm suffered a lot...Do you have the same experiences? What would do to overcoming the homesick feeling....

Hi mandy719. I believe it's perfectly normal. In college, I lived in a city miles away from our province. Because the transportation cost is so expensive, I could only go home once a year. Also, no member of my family was able to pay me a visit during that four and a half years of study. Every time I missed my family and wanted to go home, I tried my very best to convince myself that I have to be strong and finish my studies for the benefit of my family in the future.

No problem. It seems that you also love your family so much. With that, you have more than enough reason to succeed. Have a blessed day.

You could telephone home. They do have phones in China, don't they?? Write letters. Mail might be slow but word from home will still be good. You could go home once and a while but don't let it interfere with your studies. Keep busy and you won't be so homesick. Everyone will be so proud once you get your degree.
