I just can't seem to drag myself out of bed!

I try so hard, but I just can't do it. I try opening my eyes, only to have them close on me with a force greater than my own willpower, even after a 9 hour sleep! I love sleeping and dreaming, just a little too much I guess. I am not a morning person by any means, but I feel that by sleeping in I am wasting half of my day. I would like to start getting up earlier, being more productive, etc, etc. but I do not know where to start. For those of you who have to get up early in the am, what do you do to wake yourself up and get your day started?

I find that a quick shower gets my day started. During days wherein I don't shower quickly, I tend to just lie around the house without getting anything done. So, even if I don't have to work, I take a quick shower. Then I start tinkering at home while everybody is still asleep. This way I feel productive.

I'll have to try that sometime, I just really hate showering as soon as I get up, unfortunately.

If I did not have to drag my butt out of bed in the morning to take my son across town to school and be awake with my 2 year old all day I would stay in bed. I hate waking up in the morning. I am not a morning person and I never have been. A nice hot shower wakes me up pretty good, but the mornings that I do not get up in time to take a hot shower before running my son to school my day drags.

Well, good thing you have your children as motivation. I really dislike showering in the morning, I'm just so lazy I plop myself down infront of the computer or tv and try not to fall back to sleep. But I do agree, a shower does wake a person up.

I wish I was like that, I'v been up for 2 days straight and im just now starting to get drowsy. I find it very difficult to sleep at will even if I do get in the bed I'll just lay there wide awake for hours in the pithc black until I finally just give up and get up

Wow, 2 days is a long time! Have to you been to a doctor for it? You could have a sleep disorder like insomnia.
