hi friends.this question came to my mind just yesterday.
In india, when they say the pitch is bowler-friendly,they mean it only for the spinners where the wicket deteriorate on the 4th and 5th day with balls spinning sharp and bounce making life miserable for batsmen.( proves why RP singh with such exceptional records in england and south africa struggles in Indian pitches)
as far as i know, there is no pacer-friendly wicket where the wicket suits pace bowling for almost 3and half days where if u bend ur back and bowl a good line,u can trouble the batsmen.
zaheer made the ball count because of the swing in the first hour and reverse swing in the later half.
why not create a pitch like WACA?
does it have something to do with the conditions?
why not host a match on a grass covered pitch for once?
if the curator can prepare a slow pitch which cant even last 5 days without any visible change, why cant they prepare a pacy one?

Buddy you do not know what it is to play on a grass covered pitch. International matches are not hosted on grass covered pitches. Even Harbhajan's ball would zip through and bounce up to the nose.
Its just that touring players find it hard to play spin. And they complain and whine about it. They know that they have a better chance of winning if the pitch behaves like the one at the home country.
I say Australian pitches should be spinner friendly.

Hi,
Well the home team should get an advantage while playing at home. Indians have always produced great spinners and thus we make spin friendly pitches. Which is Ok in my opinion.
Of late we also saw that our swing bowlers do well when they are given a swing friendly pitches. So definately it can tried. The point is actually Indian batsman are not very comfotable in bouncy wickets like in WACA or in South africa.
We saw how we struggled in the T 20 world cup in England where they found our batsman technically. We need to train our batsman in the grassroot level to play in bouncy pitches becoz i dont c the current players in the team to bring changes in them technically.
Cheers,
Tutul

well the most simple answer would be home advantage. second, indian players are not good on green tracks. it has happened before when green tracks were prepared and india lost the match which is why green tracks are not prepared in india. the waca pitch in australia is also not spin friendly it is only pace friendly. last time india played a test at waca harbhajan singh was dropped. so it is only fair the pitches in india be spin friendly. if waca like pitches are made then there will not be any home advantage for india.
