Most of us are uncomfortable in new and different surroundings. Some, though, seem to be excited by such adventures.

Hi, suk. Yes it would feel very strange. I would feel like someone is watching me. If I don't know my way around, it can feel as if I am alone and by myself. I don't like feeling peculiar. I don't think that I have ever been in an metropolitan city before where I was a stranger. If I was, I would feel very odd.

it surely doesnt feel good being a stranger in a metropolitan city. otherwise also, in metro, many a time u feel being a stranger in crowd. this is a normal drawback in a metro. i have moved from a small city to a metro and life her is completely different from the place where i used to live. nowadays i prefer stayin at home rather than moving out as in earlier days

It would not be a good feeling at all for me. I don't like the big city life,

I think that being on your own in a big city with not much knowledge of how to get from one part to another. I felt this way when I worked in London and had come from a much smaller city like Perth Western Australia. It was a strange feeling; I can honestly say that I had never felt as lonely as I did in the middle of a huge metropolis; there were people everywhere and yet I felt so alone like I never had before!

Not at all. The only time when I feel strange is when I am expected to behave in a way that is foreign to me.
I feel no stress at all in the middle of Toronto or New York, but if I was in the middle of Saudi Arabia, and expected to wear an abbaya and niqab, THEN i would feel strange, because for me that is not natural.

Hi sukumar, This is very true and I remember having such an experience when I was a young man. I was in a large city having just arrived there from a small town in another part of the country, and although I was surrounded by people I have never felt so much alone as I did at that time. To make matters even worse, the people around me were speaking a language that I did not understand. It was not a good experience and as you say, quite an uneasy one. Blessings.

I don't like crowds so much .. I like to be able to do things as a couple , alone or with another person or something .. the lesser the better and especially if they share the same interests as us , then moving about will be faster and not a waste of time. I like the strangeness and tranquility of a strange city. I love anything new and experimenting with new surroundings , that's just my cup of tea. I suppose I can survive in a metropolitan city since Singapore is already gearing towards that.

sukumar794 it feels awful because you are surrounded by people you dont know and places you have never seen, and you do not know anyone to help.I felt like this last year when I came here to
gold Crest as a new resident among almost one hundred strangers. I feel a whole lot more at ease now as I have been here a year today. the day before thanksgiving.
