What can I say about my discomfort while travelling. In our country not every one is not huge in terms of height.so all the buses have been designed as per their height.
coming to my problem is i am 6'2 and i find it real hard to adjust my legs in the small seats I seldom sit in a bus though and standing also doesnt work for me coz my head touches the roof haha.I have been facing for many years and i got used to it.the same keeps on repeating with me.LOL
Do you face any discomfort while travelling.share your experience.

Hi Sunny,
So you have a problem as it relates to the size area of your country's leg room and the height of the bus. So maybe it's high time for you to start the campaign for a much nicer bus that takes into consideration it's leg room size and height. i understand that majority of the people in your country is not a big as you but who knows your government will listen and approved your recommendation for having such kind of a vehicle/public utility vehicle. There's no harm for trying. Start lobbying for it. Goodluck friend!

sure we can rally for you. This is a good preparation for our visit in your country. At least by that time we will have a comfy trip using the vehicle/bus that you advocated for people like your height.

Hi msfrancisco, even if we get buses with adequate legroom, people will start bringing some luggage and lodge their children on that! LOL. We are truly overpopulated. I think it is time for you all to start some lobbying to cut down population in countries like ours. After all, it does increase the cost of living for middle class and lower class across all countries. This one needs as serious lobbying as the nuclear treaty because our politicians wont do it unless we aren't getting any aid. :)

Hi tall guy :) That should motivate you to get a car of your own - fast! :) Seriously, I hate traveling in buses, flights, and even cars! I love traveling on two wheelers, and trains. :) I was told Chinese trains are much better and comfortable than ours. So hopefully, I will get to travel in them sometime. :)

I have the same problem as you. I'm 6' 4" and I always have to stoop when I'm on a bus and quite often have to sit sideways, taking up two seats because my legs won't fit in the space allowed. Some buses are better than others though. On flights I always try to get an isle seat so that I can stretch my legs into the isle and get out easily to have a walk about.

With this height it really tough to sit comfortably coz we need more room for our legs when compared to normal ones.even i prefer taking an isle seat when i travel through planes for longer hours it is more comfortable for people like us.
Thank you for responding.gud day.

I guess that is one advantage of being short. I am petite so I can squeeze in pretty much anywhere. I can also squeeze through crowds of people easier than most people. Sometime though I am uncomfortable in a different way then you are beause sometimes when I am sitting in a higher seat my feet don't touch the ground or they touch the ground but do not lie flat which makes it kind of uncomfortable to sit there for a long time. I usually sit in with my legs all folded up so if the seat is wide enough I will have my legs all curled up on my chair If I can do that I am comfortable. If I can't then sometimes I am uncomfortable.

Smaller ones can easily squeeze in between anywhere nd you stand a greater risk of being kidnapped so easily coz u get rarely recognised in a pool of crowd haha.
yeah both taller nd shorter ones have their cons but we cant do anything but go with the best.many of my friends do face difficulty in landing there legs firmly nd end up with some discomfort hence they prefer using heels which helps us to avoid this.
Thank you Ladym for responding.gud day.

That must be so difficult for you! Actually, I wish I was that tall to tell you the truth! It's a shame that tall people are not catered for when it comes to travelling on public transport. I'm sure that you have an advantage though and that is, no one will try to mug you if you are towering above everyone else!. Do you notice people staring at you a lot because of your height? I wish that I was slightly taller than I am right now. Andrew

How could say that man,Every one stares at me and some have a laugh too but i pity them for doing so.I feel like Am i looking like a palm tree in a desert haha.
The government must design the public transport so that they cater all kinds of people.hope it takes some action soon.
but these days i dont travel by buses i prefer using mmy bike which i am comfortable with.
Thank you Andrew for responding.hope we come accross in coming discussions too.gud day.

Well, I`m short and thin, so I can fit in all kind of seats. Sometimes the train seats are a little too high for me, but heels do their job very well making me not to feel unconfortable in those kind of situations.
The thing that makes me feel uncomfortable for example, in bus or train trips are those people that need to use almost 2 seats for themselves, even if they don`t need them at all.
Also, in long distance planes, I find plane seats very unconfortable to sleep, and I always end up with back or neck ache.
When I travel, the process of going is my least favourite part, but it`s worth just for all the fun you will get in the place you go to.

Ha Ha so you cover an extra inch with your heels.Mostly men do those kind of stuff like occupying more space in trains and in buses you dont have any option to do so coz no one would prefer standing when you have an empty seat.
I never faced any difficulty while travelling in planes do you meant that seats are are too big for you to have an good sleep?
Thank you for sharing your experience Madte have a nice day.

travelling is not much of a problem for me as I have travelled in ech n every type of conveyance. i feel discomfort in local buses but i barely have to ride on those buses. distances are shorter out here in our city n v mostly travel by our own car. for going on longer routes, i usually take good buses, trains or planes.

Oh no! I fear that my son will have this problem! He is only 2 now, but his "dad" (yes I use the term loosely) is 6'4 so I already know he will be tall. I know that they don't make things for tall people! It seems like as the economy gets worse, things get smaller! Smaller airplanes, cars, etc... I don't really have that problem because I'm only 5'2! But I can definitely sympathize! I bet you also have problems on roller coasters and buying clothes that are able to fit you!

yeah i had tough time on roller coaster rides coz its so tight tat i cant even move my leg and I Thank god coz shoppers at our place provide clothes that fit me.
Thank you for responding and enjoyed your response.hope we come accross in other discusions too.

hi amyson,I really hate standing in the buses but i have been used to this and i no longer go by those i am using my bike so difficulties.
oh people smoke in the buses atleast they must have some concern about others like you who have some breathing problems.
At our place you dont find anyone smoking in a bus coz they would be kicked out of it if they do so.
Thank you Amyson for sharing your Experience.gud day.

Haha well i guess being tall has it cons also. I am 5'7" i can sit comfortably in a bus, but it's hard for us to walk inside our buses here, it is always full, SRO, and you have to walk through the door before your stop otherwise you will miss it. so much for comfort.

haha this is the only con for tall people like me but short ones only have a comfort of sitting tats it nothing else.
Even our buses are full but only at the peak times like 8-9 in the mornings and 5-8 in the evenings..if you prefer to travel at these peak times it is like real hell and everyone would be stamping your legs which i really hate the most.
gud day.

absolutely i do. i'm nauseated and big bus odor and smoke! sometimes in the middle of the road, i'm throwing my lungs out cause i really cant stand it's smoke even if it is with air con. plus, the feeling of like floating in the air keeps my head in the bad shape, thus, i felt dizziness. this keeps repeating especially if i'd travel to the provinces. its like you're travelling in a roller coaster, and it sucks!

in buses and metros in my country that is not a problem, me too i'm quite tall, for a woman at 6'1'' that is only a problem for me when i travel with friends in a very smal car, like the volkswagen beettle, i can not sit in the back, that is way to small, the mini cooper is also a problem for me, not a lot of head room, so thankfull some of my friends have bigger cars and a can be comfortable

yes but very often only, when i ride in a bus where the seat space is very small too,and when there are many passengers and you need to stand, you couldn't see any pole where you can hold, that is why i always ride in a bus when its big or having a wide space like chairs and in the middle.
