Is it okay to allow boys to be dressed up like girls in school if they want to?

Yes I can not think of one single reason good enough to stop a boy dressing as a girl can you?

Do u mean ocassionaly for some function, event or regularly. If it is for a purpose like an event or a school function where they have to participate in a play it's ok. But on regular basis it doesn't look good if boys wear such dresses.

In normal times boys must be made to wear what are proper for them: Clothes and things solely for them. Early in their period of development and adjustment, demarcation line in clothing must be made between the sexes. I believe letting boys dressed in unappropriate attire will have a marked influence in their mental setup.

I've always said that if a women can dress like a guy then a guy can dress like a girl. Even though I would not want to dress like a girl even though wearing a dress could look comfortible lol. But It should not be wrong since why can women dress like men but men cant dress like women its not fair I tell ya.
