I'm a English major student in China and in my class some of my classmates has their own accent when they speak English. Sometimes I think it's a little bit cute and sometimes I prefer have a good pronuncation as a foreign language leaner...so what's your opinion about this situation?

ni mandy^^;; im not a native speaker myself but i just want to share from what i learned. if you want to be understand more easily around the world with your use of English then try to neutralize your accent away from you own language accent. so pronunciation is really important to achieve that too. some English learners don't consider accent but it could be annoying to some so it's better to follow the standards

hi,mandy! pronunciation is indeed very important.it is always refered as "the facade of one's english command".no wonder so many people pursue standard pronunciation, spending a lot of time and energy to improve it. though, considered that the purpose of learning english is to use it as a way to communicate with english speakers,I think we needn't to pursue standard pronunciation too much.in real life, most english speakers cannot speak standard english as announcers in"voa standard english",but they can understand each other. besides, native speakers canot get rid of accent.it is said that even "in england everyone speaks a different lauguage." and people in Newzland,Australia,India, etc.speak english with their own accent respectively.but no one doubt that they speak english. so why worried about it too much? have a nice day!
