Yep she has and you will never guess who by ...........a little Kitten A few weeks back she was out in her Garden and this little Kitten sat looking at her, my Girl walked up to it and it just sat there looking at her, the kitten let her stroke it and then decided to follow my Daughter indoors, my Girl did try to explain to the Kitten, that it can not stay as it's Mum will be upset ( yes my Children are as mad as me when it comes to Animals lol) she gently pushed the little one outside, but the little Kitten decided to look in through the Window at her and not move, so she let it in for a bit, it made itself comfortable on her lap Well a couple of weeks ago my Daughter went to see her Dad, when she came back the little Kitty was there and every Day after that lol Well last Night, my Girl went outside and there was the little one, so she let it in and of course it got a bit of food and milk diluted with warm Water she then played with little one for a while, she told me on the Phone she knows it is not a stray as it looks cared for The little one again made itself at home so my Girl told it again, that no it will have to go home so again she gently shoved it out the door, this bit made me laugh when she told me on the Phone, the Kitten sat outside meowing, it then went quiet after about 5 minutes, 10 minutes Later my Daughter heard it again, but she said it sounded strange so she went to see what it was all about, these where her exact words to me, 'You never guess what Mum, when I opened the Door the cheeky little kitten had brought one of it's Mate along, so I had 2 sitting there' well I just had to laugh specially when she told me that they both just waltzed into the House and started playing. She told me she hopes that the little one does not have more Mates to bring along lol After an hour she shoved them both outside, and of course they where sitting at the back door serenading her lol she said they would not shush for about 10 minutes I told her she might have more there tonight as the Kitten seems to be telling all it's Mates about her lol, she is more a Cat Person where my Son and I are more a Dog Person, she just can't refuse the Babies even if she had 10 turn up she would let them all in lol I told her that A Person never owns a cat, a cat will always own a Person, they choose and that is what stays, well it looks like the Kitten has decided to adopt my Girl in this case lol

LOL. That is a great story. My own cat Gobi has taken up with the neighbor, I have given her my phone number to call me when ever she wants. And During the summer she called and tells me my cat (who has taken to spending the summers with her because she feeds all the strays so well) is missing after scouring for weeks we of course think the worst- and she even calls a couple more times upset and accusing me of keeping (my own cat, mind you) Gobi from her. And for some reason not telling her.. I said No, I have not seen him either. I am as worried as you. Well 4 months go by and I get a call from her (a couple of weeks ago) and She says - Gobi is back! he has been here for a few days- I thought you should know because it is getting cold and you should come take him home. (he stays outside on her porch) I was so excited I ran over an got him, and he stayed the night and left in the morning. I got him the next day and the next .. -LOL. He's content when he his home. Then gets bored and leaves but for some reason (maybe the 4 dogs and 13 other cats) he doesn't want to come back home to live... So I just go pick him up whenever the temperature drops and force him to stay in for the night.. So, I guess my baby likes to spread his love around too. He's 13 so I doubt I can change his habits now.. If I were your daughter I would be so tempted to keep the kitty.. (but I don't need anymore either) :)

Hello Aerous I am very proud of both of my Children and we all love Pets but my Son and I are more Dogs then for Cats but I would take a Kitten in if it decided it wanted to stay lol I used to have 4 Cats and all together between the 3 Girls they gave me 45 Kittens lol over 3 years The 4th Cat was the last of the Kittens so decided to keep him, they where all fixed in the end lol

I appreciate for that, my friend. Because you teach your children very well. That is a good compliment to you, friend. Hope your children did not change when reaching the maturity age. In our province it sad to say that there is no cat you see. Because people don't what the important of loving animals especially cat...

That is just too sweet, gabs. Yes, we are owned by cats while we own dogs. Sometimes I wonder thou..-meaningful look at Gissi- Did your daughter end up with both or just the one? Obviously someone was indeed taking care of them cause a feral kitten would never willing walk up to a human and let them mess with them.

And people don't think animals are smart! They found her!...LOL.....this story reminded me of one about my dad.....He had so many birdfeeders in his yard that it started getting expensive to feed them....one day he looks out the picture window and a bunch of them are sitting there waiting for the feeder to be filled....we teased him that they would soon be sitting looking in the window at him.....

The cat seems to want to stay. Instead of kicking the kitten out you should suggest that your daughter adopt it. Feed it, care for it, and let it stay with her. Most cats don't survive very well in our moderon cities and towns and it'll have a better chance at life.

I wonder if cats have some kind of instinct to find extra homes - just in case - and then maybe choose the best one to stay in..?? This kitten even brought a friend to judge if this would be a good home for them both..?? Well, who knows what goes on in their mind, but obviously this kittie likes your daughter very much so she may have a friend for a long time, or should I say friends!! Cats can have many siblings..!?:o)

How strange...I wonder where the kitty is coming from? I hope no-one is missing it but you are right...the wee one certainly seems to have moved in with your girl. I would not be surprised if the other one has also decided to call your girls place "home". Thank the Mother for animal lovers who are kind to animals and give them food and cuddles and a home and care when necessary.

Your daughter has a cat...or rather a pair of them. It sounds like Max. Max appeared in the neighborhood from seemingly nowhere. He may have been dumped! My neighbors on the next block tried to take care of him, but couldn't handle his constant "talking" to them. He does meow a LOT! Well the next thing I know he's at my house and I'm feeding him. He is living here with me for awhile and he suddenly disappears. We were worried about him until we found out that he had moved in with an elderly couple that had recently put their dog down. They adore that idiot cat, Max. He gets brushed several times a day, has special treats during the day ( his menu is a snack before breakfast, breakfast, and pre lunch snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, bedtime snack..) The husband built the cat a special house for when he is outside, and if it's cold the husband makes sure that the cat has "heat" on in his house by setting it on the top of their spa and turning on the heat. Max also gets to ride in the couple's golf cart, and rides on the roof of the car. But Max selected a family that really needed him and his love. You're right, a person never own or selects a cat, the cat does the owning and choosing their home. So, your daughter can just settle back and enjoy the pair.

When I read the title of your discussion, I felt sad thinking that your child was adopted. I was thinking how come you allowed that to happen. But anyway, I am glad it is just a Kitten. Have a good day. Happy posting too.

Where I live now, I'd never leave a kitten outside for fear that something would eat it. But in my first house, we had a similar situation, a beautiful little orange kitten showed up on my doorstep. My cousin thought the neighbors owned her, so we asked. "Yes", they said. but I thought about it a bit, didn't think they had looked too happy about it. So I went back and asked them if they really wanted her. "Well no not really", so we adopted each other. She was my little sweetheart. Used to climb all over me to get at a slice of bread that I was eating and she slept on my pillow.

hi Gabs, That is really sweet, the kitten knows that your daughter has a warm kind heart that is why he went to her in the first place and then to bring his little playmate, cats are not stupid, theya re very clever and yes they do adopt you, you don't own a cat but cats own you, that is why I slav e for my cats and they would only come to me when they want to or when they want food, lol! love and hugs. I have two cats now. One is nine and the other thirteen. They both think they are kittens and they still don't get along. One stays in our room and roams the house only occassionally and the other will roam the house except for our room. She will however stay close to the kids.

Like mother, like daughter! I can just imagine Mel delighting in the fact she has been chosen. Gaby, has she made enquiries as to where the kittens came from? Maybe the owners would be very pleased to know they have found a home and then Mel can feel completely at ease about adding them to the family. I can imagine Gissi with them - or maybe not!

hi gabs yep she has been adopted by the kitten for sure and she might as well give up cause the kitten has chosen here. lol I love cats too and dogs, guess more for dogs but when we had our own house we had a dog and a cat too. more fun but we sold the house and had to move to an apartment and of course they did not allow pets so we had to find homes for them with people whom we knew would be kind to them. that was hard.

That story is adorable! It gives credence to the addage: Dogs have owners, cats have slaves. I'm a sucker for anything that shows up at my door. Well, that is, cats or dogs. I'm not particularly fond of snakes, mice, squirrels or anything else that thinks it would be cool to live in the house with me. I've had many strays find their way to my door. With most of the dogs I've tried to find their homes. If I couldn't I'd try to find a good home for them or take them to the animal shelter that does not euthanize. With the cats, I'll do what your daughter does and push them out the door. If they don't leave for days (of course I'll feed them if they look hungry), then they're usually here to stay. When we first moved here, two strays tried to worm their way into my heart. Well, they both did, of course. But, one was a female and my husband already had a female cat. They started to get into fights, some pretty nasty fights. So, I had to take her to the animal shelter. But the male who came, well, he's a real pussycat. He's the sweetest cat I've ever had. Someone, somewhere, had obviously loved him at one time but he was so thin when he first showed up we could see every bone in his body. My husband fed him for the first time so, of course, he wasn't about to leave. Anyway, he's my kitty now, a big, fat 16 pounds of cat! He has really big bones so he's not obese but he is awfully hefty. The vet hasn't really commented on his weight, other than to say he's a huge kitty. His head is about twice the size of my husband's cat! Well, here's hoping that your daughter's part-time kitty doesn't bring a dozen back with her. LOL

That's adorable! Its memories like these that will make you smile years later. My first pet was a cat my grandmother had when I was little. She was my first best friend. Years later, she came to live with me and my parents. Cali lived until my junior year in high school, she was 24 years old, and as loyal and loving as ever. I agree that cats choose their owners, and not necessarily the other way around. A dog will accept anyone, but a cat reads resumes (lol). My father got my mother a kitten for their anniversary when I was young. She was adopted from a shelter. When my dad walked into the room, she climbed off the high catwalk onto his shoulders. It was a perfect match. A cat knows best.
