I was once an economics student and my teacher used to teach all things about money and its importance and need for saving money.I understood his sayings and decided to save money even the little amount and at present i opened an account in a nearby bank and continuing my savings.due to this habit i hate spending money often on unnecessary things. savings is a very good habit.

I like to save half or try to save half. You never know when your breaks are going to go out on your car or when you will have an emergency. Something go wrong in your house. Life is so unpredictable! I have seen too many people nt save and suffer!Spend the other half and have fun, but always have a cushion is what I believe.

Hey deepa guess what even the richest of the richest will never be satisfied with what they have and what they got for the simple reason that thers nothing in this world that can satify the human eye, whether let it be money or material stuff or anything its human tendency if ur born as a human being right from the day ur born till the day you die you will keep on wanting things thers not end to that if ur a person who is saving money thats good but dont forget if ur saving it someone else from your family is gonna spend it, whether u save it today or tomm your gonna spend it someday even if u have 100,000 crores in your bank i gaurentee you there will be so many things you would want to buy in this world and all those things will be more expensive than 100,000 crores and you would want more and more
Once you get to a place where you have plenty of money, money wont be an issue for you cause you already have it then what will happen is you will have status and prestiege issues where in you would think that i have to earn more than that guy or i want to be the next billionare or i have to get a bigger boat that that guy i have to own a bigger house than that guy or i have own an island on Palm Jumera you wont be thinking of how to make money cause you already would have made alot of money and still be making money and having lots and lots of un-accountable money which will never be enough even if you spend it all thers no limit for spending in this world. Saving money is good dont forget if you save today its going to be spent tomm.
Cheers !

I'm also saving and I don't buy things that are not important. Now a days many people learned there lesson to save because of the crisis many have debts. Overspending it the cause of problem why some people have debts. I think if we only know how to save some small portion of our earnings we can't experience financial problems.

hi deepamoorthy,
i love saving money and this is making me happy. i know that if you save now you will have more tomorrow. every single cent that i save for the day from my snacks and transportation, i safe keep it in my piggy bank. i've been doing this since i was a kid. Now i am inculcating the same value of saving money with my kids!

if they want something to buy i encourage them to save for it. then whatever is lacking i can give my share. At least they have a counterpart in getting what they want and they really have to work for or be deserving to get it. My sons are both special but they know...how to value money and the value of sharing!

I think that I am a responsible and fun loving person who knows how to balance my life between and enjoying life and saving for the future. My life and daughter have non of their wishes unfulfilled so far.I have given and giving every ting within my means to keep them comfortable and happy.I want this life to continue smoothly for ever.So I save a part of my earning too.Life itself is an interesting balancing act.Isn't it.

Both me and my girlfriend are big savers. My girlfriend buys nothing for herself, but we have this house and she's happy about that. She lived in apartments for so long and she hated it. We both have old cars. We both have had car payments in the past and we will never have them again! If I'm going to have car payments, I will put money away every month, then go buy one with cash. That way, there's no interest, no late charges, none of that. n other words, I choose whether I want to make a car payment or not. and because of how we are, we still have our home. She was out of a job quite some time ago for a few monthes and I have been out of a job for over a year. But we are not even close to forclosure. We will not lose this house, thanks in part to unemployment but also because of our spending habits. Now she is a little more "worse" then me. I will go out to eat, buy things I want, but not too much. I won't go to any concerts or ballgames until I find a job which I hope will be soon.

Saving money is really important nowadays because we are in a crisis.
Living today is very hard especially if there's so little job offered
and so many jobless workers. But the question is what can you save if
you have nothing left for savings.Tough questions isn't it?

Like many people, I am the sort of person who goes to work to earn enough to keep the bills paid! I wouldn't say it makes me particularly happy but it stops me being deep in gloom with the worry of outstanding debts. There is no incentive for people to save for their old age now as people who have either never worked or have just spent their money enjoying life tend to be better cared for by the state than those who have prepared for retirement. So, if I had spare cash I'd use it for pleasure.

well yes, i save money for happiness because right now, i still cant find the true happiness in my life. saving something also for your family also help us lot in giving. it is like the way of returning the things that they have done for you. one thing also is to keep the bonds. some actually saves money for special reasons and for further use in case of emergencies and unexpected happenings. my friends, which are so lucky that they have good financial status, also saves money for their own happiness to buy more expensive clothes and other things and gadget. but, in saving money, we should all at least keep and stay in our limits. and oh~ yes, saving for your future family needs is a great move. because one day, you might use it and make your finances at ease.

Hi deepa,
I love saving money and i haven been doing it after i started to earn. If we save from now, latter when we are in need of that money we can utilise it. But according to me we should also enjoy our life not spending lavishly.
Have a great day

One of my favorite quotes is from Dorothy Parker (Okay, a lot of my favorite quotes are from Dorothy Parker, but this one actually applies to this discussion ): "Take care of the luxuries. The necessities will take care of themselves."
While this is not an absolute truth, it is kind of the way I live my life. I save money for things I want that require lots of money (right now, it's moving out and going back to school) but if there is something I want right away and I have easy access to the money to buy it, I don't deprive myself of it. For my birthday, I got a ticket to a concert for one of my favorite bands and I invited a friend. But my friend couldn't afford the ticket so, since I got mine for a gift, I didn't see the harm in buying one for her because I would have bought it for myself if it hadn't been given as a gift. Now, I get to go, I'm not out anymore money than I would have been otherwise, and my friend gets to go as well.

Living in the city, it is very hard to be happy without money for me...sometimes I hate the fact that my life and happiness depends on money. We need money to buy food and if my money weren't enough I tend to feel stress and uneasy..
Since I got my first job one year ago, I seldom feel happy about my life financially. Well because it is my responsible now to pay half of the food for the family and also bills.
When the economic down, prices up but the salary still the same. Sometimes I feel like drowning just to save my money when at the end I save none. I used to be happy when I am in college, but now its 180 degree change.
I want to be happy but I don't know how in this condition.
So in this state you can asume that I am the confused type of person.

As you said - we earn money to enjoy our life and to save our generation that is our future. We cant spend so much on our happiness that we ruin our future and at the same time, we cannot me a miser and save every penny at the cost of securing our future. The main thing is to strike a balance between the 2 which is a bit difficult if we get a bit carried away in any side. But if we can strike the perfect balance we can achieve a heavenly present and secure future.
