Love is always associated with the rose. Rose is the flower for love. Then what does the thorns in roses stands for? This is just a simple question to those people who already knew how to love and be loved. Let me have your thoughts.

Hi. I believe that roses have thorns for protection purposes. These flowers are beautiful and lovely to look at. But these flowers are also very delicate. The petals fall or dry up very easily. Without the thorns, people and animals may just grab these flowers without due care and attention which may cause severe damage to the petals.
Needless to say that love, just like a rose, should be properly nourished and taken cared of. Yes, love gives us so much joy and wonderful life experiences...but we must not forget that it also comes with great responsibilities.

Hi fulltank, Yes i agree with you.Roses are flowers for the two persons who falls in love to each others. For me, thorns of the roses symbolize that when you love ,there is also pain.It means to say that there were trials to those who feels in love.

hi,friend, when truth is bitter,as usual roses also have thorns..if want to digest the truth[realistic world] in life, you have to ready for tasting bitterness[problems]..if you want to have a beautiful rose, you have to bear pains made by thorns...

Rose is one of the beautiful flowers in the world. In other words the Rose is so soft with its petals which is related to love which makes everything beautiful in your life when you are with your lover and coming to thorns it wouldnt mine harming those who try to harm it by removing its petals.
But unfortunately people havent been blessed with any thorns to safeguard their love.once we loose it there is only suffering within which cannot be seen by anyone.it would be like a human living with no Heart.

everything that is alive today ANYWHERE is alive because it has through evolution[ GOD not withstanding] developed amongst other traits , defenses which helped it survive long enough to procreate. thorns perhaps keep animals away from eating the succulent buds.... its an evolutionary thing.......

..Hi Fulltank, Now this is an interesting question, for thought. The rose is supposed to be the flower which is symbolic of love I believe. So it could be that who ever cultivated the rose, decided to have thorns on the stem to let people know that with the beauty of love comes the pain of heartache and sometimes heartbreak. That you may find the true love of your life, but you must navigate the pitfalls represented by the thorns on the stem to hold on to that true love. Take it easy.

We all know that rose is the flower of love, flowers are symbol of love, the thorns in the flower are the small misunderstanding and small fights between the lovers,we should remember that the flower is more beautiful only if it has thorns on it.So eventually love is only beautiful only if we had small fights and misunderstanding between our lovers....
