Do you prefer stem family or nuclear family?

My sister has been upset living with her parents-in-law because they shared no common in personality and gradually became incompatible.She said she just wanted to live with her husband and childern,no old generation. In the past,however,stem family was the main type which had a bigger size and embodied the ideas of unity and continuity. The society,changing dramatically,has witnessed more and more nuclear families of small size and simple structure.I personally prefer the change and do not want to reside with the elder in case that generation gap gets widen and causes misunderstandings and uncontrollable troubles. Will you live with your parents or parents-in-law after marriage? Do you want a stem family or a nuclear one?
