Is it The Bride (Kill Bill), Trinity (Matrix), Leeloo (5th Element), Motoko (Ghost In The Shell), Scully (X-Files), Nikita or someone else? My vote goes to Sarah Connor (Terminator) and Ellen Ripley (Aliens). They were really believable as a strong female characters. The first one managed to destroy Schwarzenegger and the second one killed alien queen and horde of xenomorphs with acid blood. Who can compete with that?

It's not the first time I'm hearing that. However, not ALL the guys. I had crush on Roxanne from the Goofy movie.

hello bionicman! all you mention are really cool female characters, they do have their own way & identity of being remarkable in their respective films... uma thurman is really great as well as trinity in matrix...and yes sarah connor do great... but for me, i like angelina in her role in wanted...hehe great action. i also go for jackie liu in ballistic, michelle rodriguez in swat and of course i think the chinese sisters in the movie so close is really cool! and i also find those women in 'naked weapon' nice...and i also find those women in chinese films that are great in kung fu! haha have a good day! i like tough women!

Hi!! I would rate Uma Thurman 'The Bride' from the cult movie Kill Bill as the coolest female movie character ever onscreen. When I had first seen the movie,I didn't knew anything about the actress nor had I ever heard of Quentin Tarantino(I was too young that time lol)but was so impressed by her character and the movie that I rate it as one of my top 10 best films. In spite of going through so much in the movie, she still maintains a cool and humorous attitude be it in her dialogues or in those fight scenes.I really love the fight scene in the hotel before she fights with Lucy Liu,that was so cool and strengthened her character as a woman who takes on nearly more than 50 guys alone.Others would be Trinity from Matrix series and Ellen Ripley from the Aliens.

Hi! here in India there weren't much English releases before as they are now and so we weren't much used to watching English movies except when they were screened on Star Movies or so.We weren't much exposed to Hollywood flicks at that time, its just 2-3 years back that cinemas here have started showing hollywood flicks.Kill bill was the first movie that I watched of Quentin Tarantino and now I have seen all his movies even the recent Inglorious Basterds.

I join your club and vote for Sigorney Weaver .Ripley is a heroine like no other. She thrills you. Her powerful presence and unstoppable soul will always live on in the minds of movie-goers. She and Newt form a surrogate mother-daughter relationship that is more touching than anything I've seen before in this kind of a movie. In this movie more than any other in the "Alien" series, Ripley's a woman who does what she can to protect herself and the ones around her. She's the perfect action hero.

I liked Chun Li in "Streetfighter: The Legend of Chun Li" but then I may have been influenced a little because I like Kristin Kreuk who played her. Then there were Jessica Alba's and Carla Gugino's characters in "Sin City" who were pretty cool.

I really liked Scully in the X-Files, but what about 7 of 9 on Star Trek Voyager, T-Pal on Star Trek Enterprise, and Captain Janeway on Voyager-she made a mess of the Borg Queens plans. All the women in the Star Treks were strong characters. I also liked all those you listed, except I don't know who Motoko is?

Major Motoko Kusanagi - from Ghost in the Shell
Motoko is a character from classic Japanese animated film "Ghost In the Shell". I couldn't really mention all of them, I love Seven:)

I would agree The Bride from Killbill is very cool and badass. Ellen Ripley's character in the Alien films developed over the course of the four films so well from a woman just using her survival instincts to a highly skilled warrior. Another one that comes to mind is Tank Girl, the movie based on the comics with Lori Petty playing Tank girl. The film is not great by any means but is she is really one cool and witty character who does not mess around.

Yeah she was badass and her humour and wit was very sharp in the movie. I think if I was in a battle, I would want her at my side.

All the female actresses that you have mentioned are really good examples of feminine strength but I have a special favour with Leeloo (Fifth Element). I think this favouritism is owing to the fact that I really like the movie.
