Today is the busiest day of the year to visit the St Louis Arch. THey just made this announcement on the news. And my hubby says "and that is the best reason not to go today" who else avoids big attractions on these days? Who goes regardless? Me? Depends on my mood. As it is 29 degrees out today I will stay in.

Hello ersmommy, I also guess it would depend on what it is. If it is something that I don't get a chance to get to that often or something that is only going on once then I will deal with the crowds just because of not getting to it that often. Tonight is our local Christmas parade and both of my kids are in it so even though there is a big crowd and it is below freezing out I will go and deal with it because it only happens pnce a year and this is the first year my kids are in it so I guess it depends on what it is...

Here in Minnesota in Downtown we have a parade daily at night during the holidays called Holidazzle. It is awesome as all the floats and band members etc are lit up in holiday lights. Here's a link.

When we went there it was not even a busy day and it still seemed like we waited in line for ever to up in to the arch. If I hear some place is busy on a certain day I will wait before going there. I will avoid any place that is suppossed to be really busy like the plague. My husband can not tolerate crowds and gets really crabby so it would not be a pleasant experience, and I hate waiting in line, so I would pass.

I avoid the huge crowds as well. My wife spends the night at our daughters on Thanksgiving day to go shopping on Black Friday. I tried shopping that day once and hated the mobs.

Just talked to my wife at her job and they were out until
about 9 a.m. Guess she has quite a few bags of stuff.

I agree with you. Your wife is very brave and patient to put up with the huge crowds. I just get annoyed.
