There was a time when there was no internet. That was the time people communicated on the phone and wrote letters.I remember in the early 70s when Iwas studying engineering and stayed in the hostel we would eagerly look for mail. There was a certain personal touch in the mail.Every handwriting was different. There was
so much warmth that exuded from there.People complained ,people appreciated and that used to come alive through the letters. All the personal characteristics came through the letters.Yes email has changed all that but then how much of ourselves do we give in an email and can it ever replace the live and emotional punch one feels on the
phone.

I don't think that internet is bad regarding our socializing skills. It's true that before I could use internet I would call people by phone or just go to their homes. Feels like ages have passed!
Actually thanks to internet I can keep more in touch with people, not only with the ones that are near but also with the ones who are far, so I think internet has been positive for me, regarding to socialize.

It is quite a paradox.Let me put it this way thanks to my listing in www.linkedin.com
I was really surprised to come across college friends office friends after a gap of -hold your breadth 32 and 26 years. The power of the net just cannot be ignored or denied. Then again thanks to the virtual friends internet provides our real friends who live in the same city are often neglected.
