RSI - repetitive strain injury. Common with people who use keyboards a lot. Trouble is, like any injury - you keep using those muscles, the injury becomes permanent. God knows how pianists manage.

I feel so bad for you. Not being able to type without pain must be horrible. I have been typing for the past 36 years and thank God nothing like. I know if I type for a long period of time without a break then I could easily start to feel pain. However, I take breaks with doing laundry, cleaning or playing with my granddaughter. How about if you put ben gay or Icy hot on your hands rub it in real good and then puton tight fitting gloves and see how that feels. I hope you feel better real soon. Take care of your self.

RSI - is this through spending too much time on the keyboard here, I wonder?
Sorry to hear you're suffering - I get constant eye and wrist strain as I spend each day typing up articles for work. I can't give it up though - "I need the money!" Hope you're better soon.

I know that feeling! I'm not a typist, as such - though I'm pretty hot with two fingers... with me, it seems to be more my wrists and forearms - I do up to 5000 words a day, but I've had to cut back the workload which is tough. My eyes suffer too.
It's a real bind, isn't it, when you have to stop doing something you like because of physical constraints? Pity there isn't a "bionic arm" plug-in we can use ...
Do you type for a living? If so, you're right to stop coming here - no point making it worse. Mind you, I should talk!

Hi suzzy3, I feel sorry to know that you are suffering from certain pain which I don’t know. I guess it might be some sort like muscle pain after seeing the tags like “it hurts, strain and painful “at the bottom of your discussion. Yeah, it’s nice for you to stay away from mylot for a couple of weeks to have a proper rest. Yeah, it’s not healthy to spend hours sitting in front of the computer. I believe having sufficient rest as well as doing some other favorite outdoor activities in the fresh air relaxingly, surely will help you to get refreshed and healthy fully again.
Hope to see a brand new and energetic suzzy3 back again after a couple of weeks.
Take care and wish you all the best!

I will make you laugh .Yes my rsi has improved greatly thankyou. On the friday before christmas it snowed and it was so icy in our area.We spent all day digging the neibours out ect like you do.I went shopping in town with Brian carried shopping the lot. When we returned home I stepped outside the back door and slipped up,hit my head on the door, hurt my botty, and cut my hand to bits on the back door step.So I had plasters and dressings on one hand and a support bangage on the other arm.Brian had to peel the potatoes and do nearly everything else.mind you I did make mince pies and sausage rolls with ready made pastry.I rolled out the pastry with my arms ,not a one to give up that easy. After I finished crying I had the biggest laugh ever.I was so lucky not to have broken something. So many people broke wrists or worse from falls that week.yes i am back and ready to answer almost anything some days it has just been a few words.I do hope you keep safe during the winter.Although It is probably heat stroke you have to look out for.

I am sorry that you are suffering. I’ve never had r.s.i. but a colleague of mine did years ago and she was in a great deal of pain. It must be very frustrating for you, not being able to type but the main cure is rest I guess. I hope this won’t affect your income and that you still will be able to work. You must do a lot of typing in order to suffer from r.s.i. Anyway, take it easy, keep the computer off and we will hear from you when you are all better. Take care...
