There are free hand artists who do "paint-over's." Some free hand artists sometimes use a photograph of a nude human. This process can be described as the free hand artist: Laying paper down, placing carbon paper on top, laying the actual subject's photo over the carbon, tracing the lines of the human form.
The above process is done instead of a free hand sketching and drawing of the nude human. Next in the process is free hand coloring in and shadings. Using Carbon to trace the lines from photographs helps the artists create a more realistic painting of the person. This process also saves the artists loads of time.....
