i have notice this year has been the worst year for child deaths and children killing other children..it shocked me to learn a 15 year old girl killed a 9 year old child because "she wanted to know what murder felt like"..another was that little girl that her mother sold her for drugs and she was found dead in the woods...i want to know..what is wrong with parents? not only are they killing their own children but not teaching their own kids that things like killing are wrong..take for example those 15-16 year old boys who doused another teen boy with alcohol and set him on fire true the little boy survived but at what cost to his mental health and physical scars? ...in my opinion this year has been the worse year that i have seen for child deaths..what is this world coming to? comments? opinions?

I can't believe that? A girl wants to know what it feels like to murder! What on earth is happening today? So far I haven't seen news like that here in our country, but I heard a lot of irresponsible parents. Hope this coming year won't be like this worst again.

I believe if you can't handle raising your children to the best of your ability [and that ability has to be better than that!] you shouldn't have children. I nearly start crying at the fact that people do get murdered, nevermind how I would react if I was involved! I couldn't murder anyone, I don't think. I cried the one time I accidentally hit a bird with an arrow! Parents need to be watching their children more carefully. I understand that times are rough, and parents often have to work long hours to make bill payments. But children are our future - we need to try and make that future better by paying more attention to what's happening to children these days - what's their school life like, what kind of friends do they have, what are their interests? Paying more attention to our children could help shape the future into a better place.

Personally it has become quite an interesting yr. with Murders of children, and it does Stop and make you wonder what the world is coming too for sure. I know it does definately make me sick, and you wonder where did Society fail as a whole as well. But I think a lot of it stems back to when parents stopped disciplining and being in control of their kids to where their kids are able to do anything so they in turn Trust the wrong type of people and learn how to be abusive and self distructive and no one is there to Stop them.
The morals of this Society have gone by the wayside, and somehow it is time that we take back America and show them the Love and Respect and Freedoms that we are supposed to have and enjoy as well. Do not be afraid to teach your children about Safety, Trust, obeying your leaders, and about God and who he is, and why life is important as well. If everyone could have a little more Love for God the world would be a happier place for sure.

I have seen an increase starting with Baby Caylee who was killer in 2007 by her mom. That was the start of kids being kidnapped, raped and or murdered. Yes this year was the worse but its been a steady increase since the summer of 2007. Our kids are not safe at the park, bus stop, store, front yard, or bed. Its just continues to happen and know one does a thing about it.

sad issues are still on the rise. it looks like we have all forgotten our moral values. something is wrong somewhere. parents have forgotten their responsibilities towards their children in search for their own interests. these are just selected incidents but there are a lot more out there. think of child-soldiers who take killing as an adventure. unless the world reviewed where we lost our moral values, these things will not stop. Oh, world!

Children take to crime for a variety of reasons. Each case has to be treated on merit. Understanding their background and the environment in which they have grown up are critical. Inculcating discipline and values at an early age is primarily the job of parents. Somehow, somewhere parents are failing in their duties if kids behave like criminals!

It's true that many parents are at fault for this. They should teach kids what's right and wrong, and not to wait the school to do it in their place, as not only they don't learn that at school, they will learn bad things from the other kids all the time.
It's important that they know that human life is precious, and is not our right to take it from another person.
