Do you follow any superstition? If so what do you follow?

I am particular about anybody asking, 'where are you going?', at the time of my leaving the house for any work. I have seen that everytime whenever people asked me this question while I started from home, the work was not done, I faced many difficulties like not getting transport, or people I wanted to meet were absent or the things were not done or papers not come in the office or banks etc. So if anyone asks 'where are you going', I immediately come back, sit for a while, drink a sip of water and then go out again. Do you follow any superstition? If so, what is it ? Or do you do'nt believe in it?

This is a family superstition about friday. We believe that if we make any plans on a friday, they do not work out. It has been an experience since childhood with me that not once, or twice or sixteen times; but more than that, things have not worked out as planned, if they have been planned on a friday! So we a home, take care not to plan any plans on a friday,or initiate any activity.

I do not believe any superstition. Some people say that if a cat runs across us when we go out, then that particular work will not happen, or if a widow comes in front of us, while we start from our house, then we can not able to do that work, like that. When I go out, so many people will be passing me. How can i know that among them, who is a widow and who is not. But my things will be done.

Not believing is good. We need not have unnecessary tensions.

I don't have hope on these things and I will never bother if I am asked like this. But if I am the person to believe these, then I will not proceed further and also I will not blame the person who are asking like that.I will consider them as the forecasters and they are saving our time and money by asking so.If we consider their interference, then we can avoid unnecessary expenditure and tiredness.

You are a positive thinker. To be frank, I never thought on these lines Wordlinx. A discussion certainly shows the picture from the other angles. Thanks for telling this.

I wouldn't say that I follow any superstition... However, I do labour under the delusion that Liverpool will one day win the Premier League - does that count?

I'm not that superstitious. I don't like to think that black cats and walking under ladders bring bad luck, but I do like to think that I'll be lucky if I find a penny. w

Hi Buchi, You believe in superstition that is why it affects you badly. Otherwise nothing will happen dear. Superstition are meant for good purpose or giving some fear to us for not doing something. If we believe in these things then it will definitely give a negative impact, it is true. I do not believe all these things so it won’t make any difference. I remember in my childhood if any of us call back my father when he is going anywhere, he used to scold that person.

Very true. But I am used to it and it always happens to me, some inconvenience, some negative thing. That is why I am afraid where some one will call me back or ask 'where are you going' question.

I don't really believe in superstitions, but i believe in intuition. When i feel that something bad might happen, i pray to break the bad feeling and counteract bad aura. Sometimes, i can sense that someone is telling me something. Here's my actual experience to prove this; one day, i went to the office of our condominium developer, i brought with me the folder where all my documents for the unit i am purchasing is filed. While preparing to leave, inside me i can hear a voice telling me not to bring the folder anymore because it would not be needed. But i did not heed what he said. I brought the folder with me and after coming from the developer's office, i went to the mall to buy Christmas decorations. When i arrived home i looked for the folder but the folder was gone. I remember putting it inside the shopping basket the mall is providing and i forgot to get it after paying. I went back to the mall and reported the loss but after two weeks of following up it was really gone, if only i have listened to that voice.

Hai, even my husband says this. He does not believe in superstition but he strongly believes in intuition. Whenever he says do not do it do that, if I do, I face loss or difficulty and problem. So now, as an obedient wife, I will not cross his word. Your experience is also eye opener for me. Thanks for sharing it.

I'm not a superstitious person at all, but I know many people who actually are. For example, I know people that can't pass under stairs, or that if they drop salt they will need immediately to throw some salt behind their shoulders to avoid bad luck. It depends on the environment where you have been rised.

True. I was born in a conservative family, wherein they believed in it. My husband says do not believe. But I am used to it and negative thing happens also for me.

I usually say "excuse me" when ever i pee on the pavement or the bushes at night. It's one way of alerting those that we don't see that we 're going to urinate. In so doing they will not take it against you. Cheers!
