What would make a good christmas gift?

I am invited to a friend's house for christmas and I do not want to go empty handed. Yes! the invitations have already started piling up and I am at a loss coss it is all within my network of friends and I do not want to get the same thng for everybody. Any ideas?

I love getting candles and they are reasonably priced. Cheese, jellies, nuts,and candy are always fun little gifts too. Sometimes the simpler the better.
