As you didn't specify, i am talking in the context of specifications and price. In this contest HP has left every body far behind. I myself have got a dv7-2270us and worked all fine for me till now with specifications core2 quad 2Ghz, 4 GB ram, 500 GB hard disk, 17.3" LED, 2GB graphicd card and price just 1230 US$. I am happy with my HP

i think alienware laptops now are the best available for configuration as you consider the power of the processor, ram and ssd hard disk or/and the graphic card available!!So alienware is owned by dell now...but i think for configuration alienware brand is the best now as high end pc!!they are really expensive but for performances i think they are worth!!

I have a desktop which is Dell brand name, and also a laptop which is also dell. They are pretty decent PC for use, I won't say it is the best. Most people wants to own an Apple MacBook, that is the most expensive, and popular among all others. So, keep that in mind, Dell is for economic users like me.

Different people have different ideas on what computer's the best. I can tell you what not to get, but I can't tell you what to get. do your research. Dell seems to be one of the better brands next to Compaq. Sony would be alright if they knew how to make large enough chargable batteries that didn't over heat the systems. Try not to get an apple unless it comes with a non-sony battery.
