Did you see that column on the right of this discussion
That contains all the discussions with tags similar to this one.
Therefore if you use generic tags for all your discussions and use them when you start one, your other discussions will appear in that column if they have had recent activity and might receive more responses.
Tags, if used correctly, can help you obtain more responses - but response willnot earn for you. You must go back and comment on them otherwise they will only earn for those who post them.

Hi Olisaur :)
Yes, I do tag my discussions, and sometimes add appropriate tags to those others have started, especially the ones that have none at all. It may not be required, but any discussion is more apt to be seen and responded to if it has tags on it.

I don't think tagging is required because I never add them myself. If it was required, I believe my replies wouldn't work. Tagging is just another tool to make it easy for people to search for relevant answers without haven't to read all the topics.

Hi olisaur.
Yes, I do tag my discussions and I also tag the other discussions. I add 3-5 tags, but sometimes I can't see my tags on the discussions - I found that discussion can only have 5 tags.

I tag if I know of something that hasn't been covered yet; it just helps when people search for discussions. Although it's not required, it's a good tool to use to increase the odds of someone seeing your discussion. The more keywords and tags you have, the better.
