Yes, I do keep a journal and I have kept a private journal for many years. I think that it's a great idea as many years from now you can look back on it and see how you have got on and progressed. I also treat it as a form of self-help and therapy! I get to release my thoughts onto the page and I guess it's a form of release and I feel so good afterwards. I know about the frustration! There are days when you just cannot be bothered to fill out your journal. When this happens to me I just give it a miss! There will be other days when I feel better and more relaxed and then I can return to the journalling. There are many ways that you can keep a journal. You can either write in pen if you like this method or you can keep a private journal online and this is the method I favour right now above all else. You would think that it's not that safe if you were journalling online but it's perfectly safe. You get to choose who you reveal your journal details to. I think that the writing helps with improving communication skills as well. As a result of the journalling I have become interested in writing generally and this is how I got to publish over thirty articles for the likes of helium and it's nice to have others read your written works! Anyway, good luck with your own writing and stick with it and record you like and what you get up to. Andrew

No. I don't like to have one. It's hard to keep up with it when you're not used or accustomed to it. Just like what happened to you. I may end up just like you. Hehe. Plus I don't want to live a trace for all the things I did throughout the day. You'll never know what might happen. Others can sneak into it.

I have kept a journal ever since junior high. I have gotten to the point where I do it on a daily basis. I find that it helps me organize my thoughts and release any frustrations I may have experienced. Also, it's a great way to see how much I have grown, goals I have achieved and it allows me to keep track of happy memories. I love being able to go back and see when a specific event happened and how I felt that day. When I read the words I wrote, I can actually go back in my mind and remember that day. I find that journaling helps me relax. I plan to keep a journal for awhile. I don't see any reason for stopping, so until then, I'll be journaling and writing down thoughts and feelings about life.
