When ever i get a can with a ring pull on it like a can of coke cola i tend to use a key to lift the ring pull up or if i am at home i will use a spoon to lift the ring pull up as i have no nails as i bite them.Do you have to use something to lift the ring pull up,what do you use?

I usually just hand it to my daughter and she opens it for me. If she isn't around I open it with a key or a card. I don't have to very often because it is usually opened for me. I am not offered many cans anymore. Usually it is a bottle but I have had afew recently with all of the sales.

I have very sore fingers so I always use the handle of a spoon to open these. I have also cut myself when they didn't come open easily, I'd rather use an old fashion can opener.

No, I use my fingernails because I usually have some. If I let them get too long they break so I try to keep them fairly short but they're there. My youngest daughter will always use something to open a can with instead of her fingernails because hers are always polished and pretty.

I bite my nails too and often have to use some object to open can with a ring pull. As most have said I use a spoon or a key or just whatever. Sometimes when I am bored I will try to open a can with my nails but it does not work cause they are too short. I guess I should stop biting my nails so they will grow long so I can open a can without the use of an object, I could go on but then what is the fun in rambling on if there is an echo

I tend to use a coin, since I almost always have my wallet with me, and I almost always have one or two coins in there. I know what you're saying. I don't have finger nails (I am a nail biter!!) so I don't really have anything to lift the tabs with. Coins are a nice alternative.

I also use a spoon or knife to pull up the rings as I have long nails but I do not want to risk breaking them.

i use a butter knife or something similar if it's one of those stubborn ones.. most i can get open tho with the exception of some of the canned soup cans.

No, I don't use any utensils to pull the ring off. I will just use my bare fingers since I have nails. I don't really like using my hands because sometimes I can cut myself or the ring pops off. I would then have to use a can opener to finish opening it the rest of the way.

If it gets tough, I will use a spoon to help ease it along so that I don't risk cutting myself.

Sometimes I can use the end of my finger if I can get it under the tab. Other times I use a spoon or whatever is handy that will fit under there to lift it up. Now my daughter's finger nails are so hard and tough that she can use the nail to lift the tabs up on the cans. I can't do that. Happy Mylotting

Idk my nails arent too strong, but they still can open cans. i think maybe it just takes some practice. cuz i couldnt do it well before either. but now i can. although i still have problems with some food cans like chef boyardee i usually have to use a fork to lift it up a little then lift up the rest myself.

Hi JJ, i am happy to see if cans have ring pulls. I am so stressed without it. I don't use anything to aid me open it. i used to open it with my thumb--to lift the pull ring and that's it. same with you i don't have long nails but i can manage to open it.

I do the same thing. But there are times when I just use my finger, not my nail, in lifting that ring. It's easier though to use a key, spoon or anything else that can help.

no I can lift to the ring pull up nicely and I do not have any fingernails either . It is easy to do with no fingernails just pushed down with your thumb a little first .

Unless you have those really thick artificial nails you don't want to use your nail to lift a pull tab anyway. It is better to use the pad oof your finger or something else as you do with your key.

LOL jugs, I think that is cute that you have to use such things to open you ringed cans. I am able to open ringed cans with just my finger but I know my eight year old daughter will do the same as you because her little tiny fingers can't fit under the tabs without getting pinched and hurt. I don't have nails either I just use the tip of my pointer finger to open them LOL Have a great night

I have short nails and even so I always can pull the ring with my own fingers. Maybe from one country to another the rings are harder to pull off, but where I live they're pretty easy and I have never had any problem to do that, even without using the nails.
