I have lots of friends with lots of differently wonderful qualities. But primarily, I tend to gravitate toward people who are intelligent and can talk about more than just the weather for hours; people who have similar interests to my own, especially artistically (music, books, TV, movies); and people who are trustworthy.

In a friend, I definitely want honesty, loyalty (as in no gossiping behind my back), being able to negotiate and not be so hard headed, selfless, genuine, kind/nice, maybe even someone I look up to, a good influence, an overall good person, doesn't have to be crazy smart but at least have common sense and still know quite a lot, reliable, sense of humor and preferably funny, someone who cares whole heartedly about people, willing to fight for what they believe in but not go overboard, etc. There's so much that I can name for what I look for in a friend, because lately, I feel like I don't have has many as I thought I did. It's hard to name all the qualities and traits that I want most in a friend because they are all so important to me.

i want a friend who truly knows the meaning of friendship..who manage to show sincerity, trust, humility and respect.. Also when both of you help each, someone you can count on,a shoulder for you to lean on when you need most and vice versa..
If possible i wanted to have a true friend for lifetime..

I like people who are honest and streight forward with me. I don't favor the idea some people feel the need to "protect" my feelings. My best friends are those who tell to it to me streight and don't beat around the bush about a subject.
I also like that my friends are people who are easy to talk to and get along with. Who don't judge me based on my various issues.... and actually have real advice to which they can offer up.
Anyone who can't be like that, who can't talk to you, or thinks they have to lie.... those aren't true friends.
