Some people rather have a brand new products rather than something was already open. I understand the psychology behind it, because it was no - longer brand - new, and it was used before. But it might still in good condition, as long as the store has warranty behind it. I won't mind to purchase a refurbished item as long as it is under good condition. What about you?

No, most of the items I purchase are refurbished _ I get most of them from TigerDirect.com and have for a few years. But recently I discovered BigCrumbs- And through this site I can not only save money on some good online deals , but I can also get cash back. So I was quite surprised one day when I discovered that TigerDirect was now working with them. So now whenever I get my electronics which I was going to purchase through TigerDirect anyway (or even Walmart.com) I go through BigCrumbs first and I get cash back from my purchase.
It's great to Save not only on refurbished items- but to save double (coupons or deals) and triple (cash back) through BigCrumbs. I won't shop any other way now.
And If I ever have a problem with an item I purchase- they will take it right back and exchange it or refund it for you.

no i dont mind buying refurbished electronic goods or other kinds of goods, really it is all about your perspective and decision making. there really is nothing wrong as long as it still good. some people just have bad experiences with second hand items and they think that because it is from someone they dont know, then it is no good, nah i dont think so...
i like to buy mint condition/slightly used military surplus stuff...

I won't mind to buy second - hand items too, as long as they are in good condition, and they are still usable. For instance, my other desktop, I purchased it as refurbished from Micro center, and I still using it for now; it is been over 4 years already. My radio alarm clock, I bought it from goodwill, and I still using it now.

I wilsl definately buy second hand products. I purchased the motherboard for my computer for 5GBP from a car boot sale and it has proved to be very reliable.
Talking of reliability, if you buy secondhand you have more cash to add redundancy to your setup (backup equipment).
Sometimes I will buy brand new, sometimes second hand, depends what the best deal is. The pleasure of owning new things is one thing but some second hand things benefit from being owned by other people. I have a really nice african drum, it was actually more expensive than a "brand new" one but its a really good instrument and has a sense history and mystery about it.
I love second hand books to, imagining the other hands that have turned those pages.

Absolutely not. I learned the hard way a long time ago, that I am not like congress. I can't just blow endless amounts of money, and just raise taxes on everyone to pay for my spending.
I have a budget, and I have to stretch every dollar to get what I want. Nearly everything I own is used. I have used computers, used TV sets, used cars, used pair of pants even. Why not? Garage sale stuff can be really good. Discount clothing stores are a fraction of the cost.
Yes normal people have too much pride to buy anything but new. But if you haven't noticed... normal is broke. The average American household has over $20,000 in debt, not including the mortgage on their house. Normal is owing more on your car than it is worth, owing more on credit cards than you owe on your car, and owing more on your house than you can pay off in 20 years.
Total consumer debt in American is nearly $2 Trillion. The total amount of money collected by the Federal government last year was only $2.33 Trillion.
So do I have a problem buying used or refurbished goods? No, absolutely not. I think buying perfectly good items cheaply is the most intelligent and responsible thing you can do, for both yourself and your family. Kudos

I would not be comfortable with purchasing an electronic item unless its a computer which I am familiar with or done adequate research on and even then I have to know the person Im buying it from and have had a good consumer experience with them (they didnt rip me off). I like to have receipts, warranty, all the paperwork, boxes all that when buying electronics.

Oh my! Do such things still exist. With the mass production of cheap electronics items, why would someone want to take a chance on a refurbished one just to save a few bucks. Chances are that they don't save any money, because the refurbished electronic item fails pretty fast.

The refurbished items are all checked out at the factory and usually look like new in my experience. If I can save a lot of money why not.
Everyone has used equipment anyway, even if purchased new, at some point it becomes a used item, so you pay a lot for the thrill of a few days of having a new item and you get a large hit right away in depreciation.

No I do not mind purchasing a refurbished electronic item. As long as I can at least get a warranty from the store and if something goes wrong with it I can bring it back to them and they will fix it I do not mind.

Hi clorissa,
I d prefer to buy a mint condition electronic item, coz It will belong to me at the first time, I think the feeling is better than the 2nd hand item.
And in here where I live, some business man sales the refurbished items as the new ones, that is very resentful.

If I have enough budget I will prefer buying a brandnew product than refurbished aside from the warranty is longer than the refurbished I know that it is more reliable because I am the first user.

personally i dont think that using refurbished electronic items is a good idea because they are used and you are not sure how they were handled. So, there are more chances of them getting bad quickly. And so, it is best to buy a new one and that also from a good company so that there is no problem with the authenticity of the product too.

I don't mind because mine is also not new and still under warranty also good condition. But, I'm very lazy to brought my items to the store if something is not works and I fixed by myself.

Something that many people doesn't know is that refurbished items are not just 2nd hand items, but items that had a problem when the 1st user had them, and that have been repaired and sold again but cheaper. Knowing this, I avoid buying refurbished items.
