I'm glad I decided (a couple of days ago) to bring back my discussions honoring great football players, as today we celebrate a Manchester United legend: it's Ryan Giggs' 36th Birthday! He played a few years as a junior for Man City, but he's been playing his entire senior career for Man Utd, since 1991. He is the most decorated football player in English football history, holding many records: * Only Manchester United player to have played in all eleven Premier League-winning teams and only player to win 11 league titles * Only Manchester United player to have played in all three League Cup-winning teams * Only player to have scored in eleven consecutive Champions League tournaments * Only player to have scored in fourteen different Champions League tournaments * Only player to have scored in every Premier League campaign since its inception * Only player to have scored in every Champions League campaign since its inception * Only midfielder to have scored 100 goals in the Premier League * Most appearances by a Manchester United player He has also been decorated as Officer of The Order of the British Empire for services to football. There are many Man Utd legends, but for me, Ryan Giggs is the best player I've ever seen play for the club. A model of behavior and professionalism, and, in my opinion, the best football player that never played in a World Cup final tournament. Please feel free to express your thoughts on his performance on this anniversary day!

He is definitely one super talented player and a big happy birthday to him. That's a very interesting feat; 100 goals in a premier league. There's quite unlikely of another talented player like him. When he starts getting in posession of the ball, nothing's stopping this guy.

I think his attitude on the pitch stems also from his background as a poor child. He realized that you have to work hard and behave to earn your money and live a better life. Not something you see at some of the young players today that care more about gelling their hair, driving fancy cars and populating the high-life clubs than working extra time on the training pitch.

I agree..and that's why he should be respected and followed by example from other rising soccer stars. Dedicated players like him are just so cool..

A fantastic case study for a perfect professional. That is how I would like to define Ryan Giggs. He has been a part of two generations of winners under Sir Alex. The first one under the stewardship of Roy Keane and now this outfit. What is more impressive is the fact that he has scored in every League campaign he has been a part of. Even now though he plays less often, he has an impact on most of the matches he plays!! I consider him one of the best players of this generation. Happy b'day Ryan Giggs. Cheers! Ram

My deepest bow for the best footbaler in the world. Maybe he didn't achieve the awards yet, but we can't deny all the records he has made. Those records have showed his qualities more than the awards did. I hope the Red Devils' youngsters will imitate his dedication and his totality for the club.
