Do the ads here slow down or freeze your computer?

I just had a bad experience when I tried to reply to a friend's discussion. My computer froze and in the dialog box at the bottom it said it was transferring data from prodefence1.cn I finally had to shut the computer off manually with its on/off button and restart it.
Are these ads so intrusive? I'm seriously thinking of abandoning myLot, I don't want to compromise my security. I have ZoneAlarm, Norton and other antivirus and scanning devices but geez, if myLot can freeze my computer like that maybe I should stop coming here. What about you, have you had trouble with the ads at all?

Im sorry that you experience troubles with the adds on MyLot, i have personally never experienced that from here. Have you considered it could have something to do with your laptop or even your internet connection?
The internet is created so those with the fastest connection will get infront of the que so thier page would get loaded before those with a slower connection, if they try to load the same page at the same time.

I have high speed fiber optic connection so that's not the problem. I think it's because my computer is 10 years old and so are the components. Time for a new computer!

No then it is certainly not your internet connection ;) And then yeah maybe it is time for a new computer :( But compared to 10 years ago they are not so expensive now...

I update daily and scan my computer every other day.
It drives me nuts talking to my mom, who loves being on her computer. She doesn't understand that even if she bought antivirus she has to update it regularly!

I think it does affect the loading but I have no problems with it. Usually in just a matter of seconds the loading is done already. I did not experience anything extra ordinary like freezing or hanging. I think you should check it out whether the problem is in mylot or not.

From what people here have said, I'm sure it is my computer. It's 10 years old and it's time to get a new one soon. Downloading and using ccleaner helped a little. Thanks!

I have had a few time when it took a long time for something to download but most of the time it is okay. I do not have any pop while I am here at mylot.

Hello dragon54u this is checkmail and me too had experienced such pro but not doing myLot, but some other surfing.Yeah soemtimes while participating on myLot i do have pro of its loading pages. But its due to the online traffic. And about he computer being automatically shuting down its an moisture pro in the PC hardware.I think there has been some improvement in myLot as its loading of pages have improved now.It was really boring earlier, used to take lot of time to load its pages.Well there is no virus threat from mylot, but from other sites may be, and always empty your internet option cookies and files.

I think I need a new computer, this one is 10 years old and probably is behind the times in terms of hardware and software.

Not really. To be honest my computer runs fairly fast. Its about four months old, and I finally got my wireless running at a respectable speed. If my computer's running slow it would do it on all sites not just one.
