Reason for a suicide note?

I was just wondering about this.May be it is a disturbing question but I still would like to know your thoughts.After most suicides,attempted or real,the police look for a suicide note left by the victim.Why do you think people contemplating suicide feel the need to leave such a note behind?Apart from letting everyone know the reason for his or her decision to die,could there be any other psychological reasons or motivations behind such an act?Please share your views.

I think it would be thier way of saying goodbye or it was all your fault to certain people like thier famillies or maybe even friends. They may also think of it as a final act that they must do before they die, something that they must say and contemplate before they leave this world forever, for them it is basiclly thier final chance to say something.

I suppose the reason differs from person to person, but could it largely be a rather elaborate way of saying goodbye?

Hello Oindy. It might be a cry for help when they leave these notes. They might be hoping that someone would find it before they could actually commit the act. I don't know but people should stop and think before they would do such a thing to their life. Maybe it is to let someone know it wasn't their fault that they decided to do this. Maybe it is a way to think about it before they actually do this.
