are there good laptops under $200?

Dell will be running specials close to Christmas time. Your $200 dollar limit is going to be in the "network" class of portables. Keep in mind, those will be running atom processors that are considerably slower than a standard Intel Core2 as well as very small displays and small hard drives. I don't think so if you want getting a powerful laptop with that amount. buying Mini notebook is the best way for you, it like a netbook but i think it well just for working offline like writing. I suggest you buy a second hand netbook, it maybe can help you to find powerful laptop. Good luck

I think there isn't such a laptop under $200. But maybe Netbook will meet your requirement.

The truth is, There aren't very many Laptops out there that are under that price. The new minni Laptops range around 200 to 400, but aside from high speed wi-fi capable, there isn't much you can do. If you with them. If you want to listen to music, you either have to find an online radio or download it. Anything requring a CD or DVD would be something you would have to buy seperatly. All the extra things you might want you would have to by seperatly so you would probably be putting twice into it to get what you want out of it. So, you have to ask yourself how much do you have to invest in the extras you might want? Also, the last Minny netbook I saw cost under 200, but you needed a wireless data plan and card to browse the internet, and that's a monthly fee. And, it's sold without it, but for 100 more. So in short No, unless you don't need it to do much.

I don't think there are new notebook under $200, but you can buy second hand notebook or PC under $200. In my conutry, China, the best second hand notebook is Thinkpad.
