For me, it really depends on which door that it is. When it is our storm door on the front of the house, that is the door that I typically tend to slam. However, as far as most of the other doors, I will shut them properly because when I hear doors slam it just makes my skin crawl. It's something that I just don't really like. As far as my children and my husband, they also don't slam the doors on a regular basis.

Let me tell you! I have kids who slam doors. It irritates me more than I can say. So I have learned by this and I turn the knob and pull it closed as often as I can emember to do so. I try to remind them not to slam the door but, hey, atleast it is closed and setting wide open in this cold part of the year.

I usually shut doors, but if I am a little annoyed, I will give the door a real good slam. I will not tell you why I am angry though. Another is if the door sticks a bit and it needs to be slammed. We had a car door like that once, you just could not close it properly so it needed a good swift push and it worked fine.

Hello Jugs. No we shut the doors properly. We live in an old mobile home if we slammed the doors shut here they may fall off the hinges....LOL No really we slammed the front door last year once and it almost fell off the hinges. We haven't had the money to build a new front porch so we have kept the old door where it is. By next spring we will build a new front porch and put in our new front door. We got the door just not the wood for the front porch yet.

My friend Herb always teases me "don't slam the car door" when we go somewhere. LOL Growing up I was used to old cars, where you had to put some elbow grease into opening and closing the doors, so I am used to having to push and pull them hard to open and close them. LOL

Yes, I am afraid I am by nature a door slammer. However, out of courtesy to other people I have learned to be somewhat civilized part of the time. It also saves wear and tear on the doors.

I will occasionally slam a door if I am angry about something, but usually I do not. My car door is the exception. It was hit while parked on the street one day and the drivers side door is hard to close all the way. You pretty much have to slam it to get it shut.

I am not a fan of noise. Though I have to admit that when I was a kid I didnt think about this. I just wanted to be out he door and off to wherever it is Im going at that time.LOL These days however, Ive learned to be more aware of my surroundings and more sensitive to the presence of other people. Other people might not like the annoying sound of the banging door. Also, I wouldnt want the door to be destroyed. I just close doors gently so that I wouldnt disturb anyone and I wouldnt destroy any property, most especially if it was not mine.^_^

I am the same as you and i also think like you say the cost of the door if i had to replace it as well as the poor people in our street that have to listen to the doors being slammed shut rather than being closed properly.I also have noticed that people do not pull the handle down to closer a door and i think that this is another reason why they slam the doors.

Doors here usually dont have handles, only knobs so no need to turn anything just to secure that the door is indeed locked. If your door handles arent turned as you said, will the person need only to push on the door so that it will be opened?

Slamming doors is something that bugs me so I rarely do it myself and I give anyone who does in my house a hard time for doing it. My oldest grandson, who is 9, doesn't seem to know how to close a door without slamming it. His younger brother is starting to pick up the habit now so I get on both of them every time they do it.

Only when I am very angry. lol! But sometimes, the wind makes the door slam so hard when I try to close it and people in the house starts shouting at me. Of course, I try to close the door properly.

I am so much irritated with people who has to slam doors because it isn't that way how to close the doors. I always close the doors in the proper way. If the door is a kind where there is a sound when it closes, I would see to it that I have to control as it closes. Probably, your children slams the door because that's what they see from their father. Perhaps, you have to teach them the proper way and explain why. It is better to teach them now than carry the havit as they grow older.

I shut the door instead of slamming the door. I take good care of my doors without wanting it to get damaged. Sometimes when my son slams the door, I will ask him not to. Now he is also shutting the door like we parents do.

i shut the door the way it is supposed to be shut. Not slammed. My brother and grand daughter are door slammers. I cannot stand to hear a door be continously slammed for no reason. Happy Mylotting

I'm like you I close door and cabinets quietly. I think kids and men are the ones who love to slam the doors and cabinets. Why is this I wish I knew. No matter how many times you tell them to please the slam they still do it. My girls would usually do it when they were mad but the men I don't know maybe its a testosterone thing.

Most of the time I will just shut the door. I have once in awhile been in a hurry and just let the door slam shut behind me. I have notice that lots of people just let the door slam instead of shuting it the right way.

I tend to close them as well. My husband, on the other hand, tends to slam them. I wish he would not because I am afraid that one day he will break the door. He has already knocked off the blind. I am planning on putting a wreath on my front door and I am he may knock that down as well.
