This has a question to everyone including me since I have learned about many things on this matter-tithing. I do not know but is it really practical to do so? Well, many say that it is one of the keys for prosperity. What do you think?

According to the Bible, tithe is the tenth part of our wages. It belongs to God and should be given back to him. It is the only way we can give our part in His Kingdom. Thus, we must give according to what we desire. The church doesn't really have to force you to give your tithe. But I believe that if you don't give your tithe, everything in life will be harder. I remember a friend who testify one sunday in our church. She was a business owner. There was a time when they needed money to fund their checks. It was time of giving and she actually thought of skipping on giving her tithe. Still, in her heart she believes that even if she skip the money is still not enough. So, she decided to give it anyway. An amazing thing happened the next day. A relative call her and gave her a money---double of what she really needed. That's how God works when you are faithful to him!

I have been a tither for years and have really seen the value of practicing this in my life. I have learned something very simple. God throughout the years has answered my prayers, He has given me good jobs, He has increased my faith,He has blessed me with a great husband, sons, houses, cars, travel for free, and so much more. The Word is clear that we are to give 10% of our earnings back to Him. So, look at it this way, when He has made a way for me on my job to make $1000.00 a week and when He has given me this job, He has asked me, if I give you $1000.00 a week, will give Me $100.00 back out of the $1000.00 to help Me in My business?" How can anybody turn an offer like that down? THEN, as you work with Him on His request, you start to see increase!!! Then on top of that you give decide you want to give extra for offering...which is in addition to your tithe. If you will do this and write it down, keep track in the next year, you won't believe what will happen! You will see blessing start coming to you. It is a principle of the Word that works. you can definitely expect to see INCREASE, not just in money, but other things as well. Watch and be observant. Keep track. I have learned by practicing this, that He obviously observes what we do, and honors me when respect Him in His wishes. It really is incredible!

the matter of tithe is mention in the old testament particularly in malachi. and in the new testament says that God loves a cheerful giver. in the old testament, they are commanded to give a tithe of 10% from what you have earned. That is what we should offer. If it is more than 10% percent then very good..we should not rob God. God doesnt need money but God's people does not money. What you have offered as your tithe will be a supply to other God's people who are in need. This is how God balance His riches in His household..

Christians do the tithing. It is written that thou must help thy neighbor. The important thing though is the tithing must come from the heart. Remember the story of the widow's mite?

Tithing is a very touchy subject in churches today, especially when the economy seems to be in complete shambles. The tithe originated in the Old Testament and was an offering given by the Children of Israel in order to help the nation of Israel. It was meant as a type of funding for spreading the Gospel. At that time, it was described as a tenth of your earnings. We often have a misunderstanding of what the tithe is today. I, personally, do not believe that the tithe for us today is necessarily a tenth of what we make. I do not recall anywhere in the New Testament where we are called to give a tenth of our earnings to the church, although we are called to give from a heart of love (please correct me if I am wrong with that statement). The most important thing is something that has already been mentioned in this post; it's all about your attitude and reason for giving that makes the difference. If you are merely giving just to give, or giving but in the back of your mind you don't want to give, then you might as well not even give. If you can't give a tenth of what you make, that is okay. God understands our situations and He is much more concerned with our attitude in giving than the amount we give. But also remember that when we sacrifice and give to God, He is going to take care of us one way or another. He will provide for our needs, whatever they may be.

Jesus was once questioned by the pharisees about tax and Jesus answered them 'Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's' (matthew 22:21) everything belongs to God, we are only entrusted with some of His gifts. so therefore we should always give Him back a portion of what He had bless us with. this included money(tithe)
