I heard many people said that you should not eat sushi or raw fish while pregnant because the undercooked fish contain bacteria. How do you think?

For your new coming baby,I think you shouldn't stop eating sushi.
The raw fish isn't cooked ,it maybe ok for you but bacteria may hurt your baby.
It's sure but possibility should also draw your attention.
You are monther ,you should take responsibility for your baby.

My personal opinion would be No. It's not safe to eat sushi during pregnancy. First it;s rwa and has a lot of bacteria. Ingesting bacteria would affect the health of the pregnant woman as well as the baby's health. It is better to eat fresh fruits and vegetables as a part of the daily diet. Meat and fish would be nice too.

I heard that too because as you said uncooked fish contains bacteria. You can't ensure the cleanliness of it and if the water that the fish came from is polluted free. It is dangerous for the baby and mercury in the big fish is can cause defect. That's why the doctors advises the pregnant women not to eat raw foods and big fishes.

First of all not all sushi is "raw" Some of it doesn't even actually contain fish at all. There are different types of sushi out there. Its been branded a cat-all term for a food class. Before partaking in the food, find out how it is prepared. most tradinoial forms of "raw" sushi are banned in the states due to the illness factor for everyone not just pregnant women. There are some forms of the food that's actually boiled or cooked which is contrery to popular belief.
Try to avoid tuna in general, raw or otherwise. Its been known to have high amounts of mercury in it which could not only jeperdize your health but that of your unborn child.
Be smart when eating fish. While fish oils can be good for you, cooked or otherwise can be bad. Research. Don't buy from a store. Ask how its prepared and eat it in moderation.
