I love gardening and could spend hours together in the company of my plants and amidst nature. I feel that some people have a natural flair for gardening. Anything that they touch automatically grows well and thrives. There are some others who are able to grow plants and arrange them in an artistic manner, this too requires some special talent.
I love to grow plants in pots and around my home , I make my own compost with organic matter and household (kitchen) waste like vegetable and fruit peels, egg shells, used tea leaves, sea food waste, dry leaves etc...
Friends Please do share your own experiences in gardening and some helpful tips that you may have found helpful in growing plants successfully..

Hi kiran! Its good that you use and recycle those stuffs in your kitchen and use in your garden as an organic matter. This saves time and money. Do you agree? I do the same too. I love gardening and always love flowers on it. I love trees too but since we don't have a big space for them, we never plant them.
Here's what I can share to you about gardening.
Plant anything you can on the garden and make it standout. One way to do it is by defining. We can have the taller plants in between those flowers. This way, the height will be focused. Being consistent with the delineate areas can be done too. We can achieve this by planting the same style on it or color. Vines on the walls, fences and overhead structures also offer some protection and look great. And lastly, we can unify the design by repeating same color style in different areas of the garden.
We must take good care of our garden by taking off weeds on it everyday. And the best way to water plants is in the morning. Fertilize if necessary. Pests can be eradicated by making a soap solution but make sure to rinse it after. This is best heeded for fruit bearing trees and edible plants. Having several kinds of insects that are beneficial to your garden is a very good thing. Earthworms are best examples.
Hope this helps! Enjoy your garden

Hi yan, thanks a lot for your views on gardening . Lots of great ideas and very useful information.I like your suggestion about using soap solution to keep the pests away. I too have tried it with success. I use the water that i use for rinsing clothes after soaking and washing them in soap solution.Earthworms are farmer friendly as they make the soil loose and fertile...Have a great day

Yes I agree yan , gardening is not only an absorbing and healthy hobby, but with some thoughtful planning can turn into a great money saver. My grand mother used to grow almost all vegetables needed for daily consumption and enough flowers besides growing pulses during season...

You are saving a lot mostly in what you I just noticed. Since you are recycling the most you have. Just like in making organic matter and the soap that you are using. That is a nice idea i got from you too.
Thank you because you find my ideas very useful too you. Most of my friends are doing the same thing
Keep posting and happy lotting!

I do love gardening. I may say that I am a greenthumb for I can plant any plant. I prefer planting vegetables for I can consume them unlike flowering plants which I can simply enjoy watching. I have planted many vegetables already even if I have a very little space for planting.
Enjoy gardening.
Have a wonderful day too.

I do like gardening but I don't know if I can offer any tips as I am not a great gardner. I have never really had a big garden but I always plant a couple of things every year. But it seems like I can only have success at one thing per year. One year I had a bumper crop of zucchini's but nothing else really grew that year except for handful of tomatoes. Another year I had success growing jalepeno peppers, and a couple of other hot peppers, but nothing elsoe grew. The last year I had a garden I got lots of tomatoes, but the bugs kept eating my peppers. So I seem to only be good at growing one thing at a time.

Hi ladym, i guess none of us can be perfect, as long as we keep trying and analysing as to where we can improvise...It is great to be experimenting in one's garden. I was once trying to grow okras. They came up really well and just when the okras wee getting ready to be picked the plant had pests attacking and the whole thing dried up and I really felt bad. But I tried again taking more care with spraying etc; and got a lot of okras - have a great day

Gardening is my passion which I converted into a successful business venture designing landscaped gardens with lawns, waterfalls, fountains, birdbaths, seasonal flowers, as well as flowering trees to attract birds. I spend most of my time in my garden which gives me immense pleasure. One should go for easy to grow plants and not exotic ones as one needs a lot of time for this and time is a rare commodity these days. What tips are you looking for?

I love gardening too. Maybe it is because I love to see something grows. It is great that you know how to make organic fertilizer. It is good for the plants and have no chemical waste that can harm us in the long run. I think I watch somewhere in Desperate Housewives someone put banana peels to make their flower blooms beautifully. I hope it works.

Hi tutu, It is enough to be aware of the importance of trees and plants even if one is not doing any gardening. Once a person develops an awareness for nature , one also develops an interest in it and tries to preserve it...all the best and happy mylotting

i am not a good gardener but i have a cool garden in my house bounded with big trees and flowers. There are mangoes, litchi, coconut, pomegranates etc...
but taking care is really a big and tough job. as the tree grows , my responsibilities of giving water and taking care lessens.

Yes I do believe that the waste products help grow the plants,My problem is that too much sunlight destroys most of my plants,,will put them in a better spot now,,

I have never been a good gardener and most of what I tried to grow would just die out. I would water my garden and even pull the weeds but it did not help. Some people told me that the soil I had my garden in was to rick and that is why I could not grow anything. So now I do not have a garden anymore.

I love gardening and farming cause my country known as a agriculture country.Compost was a good fertilizer, but have You try phosphate??
I mean a pure natural phosphate, cause it will be great if the compost combined with phosphate. It will make the land being more fertile and the result of harvest will increase smoothly. And it is 100% organic, for more info try to look on search engine about phosphate.
