Housesitter or vet

When you go on vacation do you have someone house sit and take care of your pets or do you board them at the vet? We just got back and I just picked up my dog from the vet. It is a little more expensive but I was secure in knowing that if he got sick, they would take care of him for me. I was afraid that if I left him home with someone, they might not show up, or not be as attentive to him as I would like. What do you do with your pets when you go on vacation?

We have many different pets, and when we are going away without them, we take them to 3 different places. We have found a really great place for the rabbits and the guineapigs. The woman who takes cares of them is a vet, and she has lots of rabbits herself. I know that she loves rabbits and guineapets and I trust her completely. We have found a very good kennel for the dog. It is a small place, it belongs to a couple, and they are very nice people. Our cat has also been to a kennel, but we didn't like the place that much and we plan on finding a different place next time. It would be a lot easier if the vet would take the cat and dog as well, but she has decided that she only wants rabbits and guineapigs.

Yes, I do bring my pet to a vet clinic when I will go on vacation..I do not mind spending because I know that pets are not same as HUMAN who can do everything for himself when left alone in the house.. Pets are needed to be taken cared. When you are decisive to have a pet, you should take all the responsibilities to make sure he is fine too.. I would rather bring my pet to a vet clinic than left him alone and unexpectedly do things that may go to mess or trouble.Pets cannot speak, they can do only body language and expressions.. Hence, when I come home, I will not worry much with him because I know he was taken cared well..
