a poll on animal testing.

ok i know there are many people opposed to animal testing and with very good reason it is horrible and those animals didn't do anything to warrant such treatment. the question i'm posing is pertaining to intelligent logical alternatives. so it stands as follows. how do you feel animal testing should be replaced in industries like medical research and cosmetics that are completely unrelated to said animals? (things like testing veterinary medicine is somewhat understandable since its meant for those animals) my thought has been since i was in a debate in middle schoolthat convicted felons particularly those of a life or death sentence nature should become the test bunnies replacements which would be more relevant medically as well as a discuragement to potential criminals so i think this would serve as a good double purpose. so mylotters how does this sound or do you have a better/different idea?
