Do you buy organic fruits and vegetables? Are they better?

I would like to be able to afford to buy organic fruits and vegetables. I feel that they are healthier. They are more expensive and with the money situation like it is for me I cannot afford to buy it. Do you think organic is better?

Thank you for your response, jugsjugs. That is what I end up doing. I buy the cheapest and hope for the best. I really had rather grown my own vegetables, but I cannot do that at this time where we live. Happy Mylotting

The price difference between organic and not, here in my country, is a lot. I cannot afford organic foods, but at least I have some land and I cultivate some vegs there, and I can call them organic as I never use anything on them.
I am not sure the organic vegs you buy in the stores is really better because some time ago I have seen an article that said many times the only difference between 'regular' and 'organic' is the package, but the product inside is the same, it may even come from the same field!! I don't know if it's true, but if it is, what a scam!!

Thank you for your response. I have read that too about the packaging. We do not really know what we are buying at the grocery stores. If we grow our own we know that we are using pestiides on our vegetables. Happy Mylotting

There are some fruits and vegetables that I buy organic just because I think they taste better. Bananas and strawberries are 2 fruits that I always buy organic if I can. Carrots are really the only vegetable that I buy organic. Sometimes you can find organic produce on sale and the difference in price is not that much at all.

Thank you for your response, lilybug. I have bought some vegetables in a can that says that it is organic. I have never purchased fresh organic, but I hope to be able to do so. I believe that the organic foods are better. Happy Mylotting
